Don't think we've ever had an outfield Argentinian that wasn't a good choice

Odd one. When you buy someone from River or Boca you usually get them for the first team, not to loan him out. He is their star man, has some decent stats, but from what I’ve understood, he is not a striker, he is more of a false nine than a proper attacker.

They’re changing the rules on loans to stop clubs like us and Chelsea from buying someone and then loaning them straight out.

Kayky has been on the bench a few times but not had any game time.

Thinks he's bagged a few in the EDS though

Apparently he's rated as high as Aguero. All (I'll stand corrected) the Argies we've signed were all success, so I'm hoping this trend carries on.

Not sure whether Joe Hart went straight out on loan to Birmingham or not.

No, he played a bit under Sven, close to a full season.

But again, this doesn't makes sense if we are going to loan him out. It's similar to buy Ansu Fati or another wonderkid from Barcelona or someone from Real and loan him out.
I think he will be here to stay, so getting Haaland is over, IMHO,

Pretty sure he got 2 minutes at Swindon. Not certain though legless by that time

No way we paid the full transfer fee with the add one, he never played for us!
Wouldn’t surprise me if we weren’t far short of breaking even with all the loan fees we will have made over the years. But he will go down as simply one that didn’t work out and there’ll be no hard feelings

Wish I had a tenner for every "give Roberts a chance " post.

As usual

A couple of weeks ago, before we knew of any interest between Alvarez and City, I listened to an interview discussing him and his chances of playing European or even \English football.

The conclusion seemed to be that Alvarez had it all and was the real deal. However the caviat was that he was young and a move was probably a bit too early. The fear being that he needed to acclimatise top the speed and physicality of English and European football.

I think the same possibly with Kayky. A period of acclimatisation before coming used to the speed and physicality allowing them to flourish

Interesting John, it prompted me to look around other articles.

This one when it was thought he Italy bound seems to echo the interview you mentioned

Thanks for that mate.
Maybe that is what put City to the fore. The fact that we are a long term club that can nurse him and bring him through until he is ready to compete in the Prem.
The likes of the rags etc are desperate to catch City to keep in the media and nurse their global image.
Citycan afford to be patient and at this time, the next generation seems ready, waiting and some ready to push the current 1st team squad.
The future seems definately bue
