Wasn't Rudiger supposed to have signed for the Chavs by now? It seems strange that his agent/brother took a flight to the smoke via Manchester last week.

It's annoyingly quiet. I would have liked all or most our signings done for start of pre season, when do we report back? We have a huge way to go.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mendy has tweeted a picture (presumably of his feet) & what looks like the Miami Sky line in the background so still enjoying his holiday................... Maybe he'll not bother going back to France and will just join up with the squad when they fly out to Texas ;)

Monday July 10th for our players (latest start date in the PL) where we then fly off to the US (I believe we have training camp set up somewhere).

So we still have almost a week.

A number of PL clubs are starting sometime this week, (most on Mon. 3rd and Fri. 7th).

As for signings, it's pretty much this way for all clubs other than Everton it seems.

Things will heat up very soon.

But if they dont have to pay a transfer fee for him then it might balance out

In one of the links posted on here about Shrek going back to toffee-land, a fee of £26.5 million was quoted, which seems absolutely ludicrous.

However, it was in one of our own disreputable newspapers which could also be deemed to be no more than a comic, so how can one believe a single word that's printed in such publications in this country ??

Edit It was in a link to a claim that Everton were signing both Giroud and Shrek; a couple of downright footballing geriatrics.

How does spunking £12/15m on wages for a past it footballer who might only play 15/20 games this season and a dozen the next balance it out? To sign Shrek at this stage of his career on that kind of salary is madness. In Carricks testimonial the other week he was outshone by some of the celebrities!

I hope he remains at the rags, being another leech to their bank account

Except, I suspect they are trying to pay him a bit less in some way, as there isn't exactly much of a queue for his signature other than MLS.

Maybe it's less of a signing on fee or something like that, or length of contract.

I don't get it much, as he did have a poor season and looked past it, other than I am gathering they feel provide the club with someone else with higher level experience and "leadership" for the young players they have.

I think they will look to get it down to around 200k a week, which is still too high, and only a one year contract.

Yaya is getting around the same, I am assuming, and he's miles better and fitter than Shrek was last season...miles.

The quoted transfer fee of £26.5 million is in this link, quite a bit down if you read through it.

However, as I said previously, it is the scurrilous Sun, so it could be a pack of lies.

Wooney is on £300 thousand a week plus tie-ins if used for the rag's sponsors. If Koeman pays money for him I'd be shocked. If Everton cover his wages I'd be shocked. That anyone would want this guy in the Premier League would be shocking as his legs are so far gone he can't even foul effectively anymore.

No I didn't watch it. Obviously. But some mugs at work did and the three of them all agreed Shrek was shite and how he was outshone by the celebs! That's good enough for me. I hate the fat fuck so much any criticism of him is fine by me

I dont care enough to do the math so there is a likelihood im wrong but if they get him for free then they save tens of millions. Then, with that saved money, they can pay him higher wages than they would normally. Thats what i meant by balancing out.

Whether or not they should spend any money on him whatsoever is a different debate (they shouldnt).

Supposedly Costa loves Atletico so much that hes about to go back and not play for 6mos. Also supposedly the fee is pennies: high 20m euros
