Well we might not now get Mendy

That was my thought initially BUT if that were the case it could be argued Monaco would have reported us rather than threaten to i.e. You can have Mendy but back the fuck off Mbappe...??

It seems the rumours of a possible PSG move for Neymar are well founded. If so I'd be very surprised if Barca don't go for Mbappe with the money. If he leaves Monaco, and they would clearly prefer to keep him, I think one of the two Spanish Clubs will get him.

VVD now training alone at Southampton. The manager says he only wants players who are focused 100%. Good move. They either get a good fee for him or if a transfer doesn't materialise he has to apologise and show real willing and endeavour.

Could also be blackmail in that we have to pay over the odds for Mendy to have the silence of Monaco in pursuing a complaint against alleged tapping up of Mbappe.

If we assume Mendy & Danilo are done we still have two available places on the 17 max free list and if Delph goes, a vacancy on the association trained list too. If those 3 slots are all taken by new signings it would be a spectacular window with 8 incoming and double that outgoing.

Question is who else do we need now?

Pep is talking about a new CB after Kolarov's departure, maybe Inigo Martinez. Sanchez to PSG invites speculation about Mbappe and Dembele as another striker and we're told we want another specialist left back, the two homegrown Ryans (Sessegnon & Bertrand) in the frame apparently. If the rumours about Otter to Real Madrid prove accurate maybe we could also manage a defensive midfielder to share the load with Fernandinho - that would be 9 in !

RAC1 now saying Neymar may have changed his mind on leaving Barca. Makes PSG raid for Sanchez stronger possibility.

I really think we should go in for Neymar. £190m would prove to be a bargain in the years to come. Get rid of Sterling as well to help fund it and we'd have an unreal attacking force. We have the money so I don't see why we don't. Neymar, Aguero and Jesus would likely be the best attacking trio in the world.

In addition, we need to get rid of Bravo and get a replacement. I would've kept Caballero as back up over Bravo. An injury to Ederson and we're fucked again.

I'd also get rid of Otamendi and get two great centre backs and we'd really be cooking on gas then.

They aren't a club who win things either.

I hope he goes. The dippers would be a poorer outfit without him. He is the one who makes them tick. They would unlikely to be able to source a suitable replacement, even with £80m. The owners would just use the money to pay off debt most probably anyway.

Loving the fresh look of this squad but I must say I'm concerned about not having a boss in midfield. Bit soft in the centre.
