I am sure this is happening. We have heard mounds of rumours reading FB's we are "on the verge" of signing.

Reality is Confederations Cup is going to interfere with this process as it affects other potential deals, even indirectly. When that is over deals will happen more swiftly.

I don't agree that everything else is gravy either.

We need another legit scorer and rely on Aguero and Jesus to score most of our goals.

We created many goal scoring opportunities than any PL club but struggled to finish them, and cost us points.

Sanchez is more than a luxury from my standpoint. Someone of his calibre is almost necessary in order to move to the next level, unless someone manages to step up their scoring game. KDB, who scored more the season before, does not seem to be as much of a threat out of the no. 10 role, Sane seems too young/risky to be relied upon, and Raz surely cannot be so who else scores regularly for us then?

This is dangerous thinking and I think I'd better wash my mouth out and scrub myself with bleach for suggesting it, but would Diego Costa offer us something different to what we already have ??

He's out of favour at Chelsea and looks to be on his way and I wonder if a cheeky bid might succeed and save us a bit of cash, when compared to other options.

I don't know if he could adapt to Pep's style completely, without losing some elements of his game and he seems to be a particularly distasteful individual to compound matters, but I just wonder if he could do a job for us and, somehow, be a better option than Sanchez ??

Anyway, that's it......now I'm off to seek haven in the nearest anti-nuclear bunker.........

Costa? Thanks, but no thanks. Not for me

Dirty Diego, no Ta! There's a reason why he's not part of Contes plans, actually many probably.

Oh and he's dirty snide little CUNT to boot, he even surpasses ozil on that front....

Wouldn't have been arsed if he'd gone to be fair. Gave the ball away more times than Kolarov gets abused every time I've seen him.

I was watching the other day our 2013/14 season review and I really find it hard to understand what happend to Nasri.

Ok, lifestyle outside the pitch plays a big part, but fuck me, a player of his calibre should be sold for at least 20 mil. I find it really hard to understand where the problem is.

If there is any manager that will resurrect him they will have a hell of a player.

He's a Mancunian, so will be rated higher than everyone else on the planet.

EXCLU - Mercato - ASM: Benjamin Mendy approaches Manchester City

The transfer of Benjamin Mendy to Manchester City enters his final stretch. It could quickly come to fruition.

After Bernardo Silva , bought for the sum of 50 million euros, except bonus, a second player from AS Monaco could soon join Manchester City . According to our information, Josep Guardiola , after having tried a very big forcing to convince Kylian Mbappe - his absolute priority offensive - unsuccessful for now, would have advanced strongly in recent days on the track Benjamin Mendy .

Close agreement on an amount of 45 million
Nothing is done, but the trend is now towards finalizing the deal. In recent days, Manchester City and AS Monaco have indeed approached their two positions. So much so that an agreement would be considered on track for an amount of 45 million euros. If a final agreement is quickly sealed between the two clubs, nothing should oppose the signing of Benjamin Mendy in M anchester City . Business to follow in the next few days therefore.

£10 million more than Walker makes you realise how laughable the Walker valuation is.

Don't be daft Mase, no more than 10 mill for all three. None of them will improve the squad .Either overaged or overrated.

It's about wages + attitude, surely.

One article from January says he's on a 120k a week.

http://www.totalsportek.com/money/manch ... -salaries/

A new article in The Daily Mail I just found says Nasri is on 150k/week:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... -trio.html

Older article says Joe was on 110k/week. This article says 130k/week.

Old one says Bony on 110k, newer one 127k (!?!?)

Either way, all those salaries are too high, especially given their age, and surely why we struggle to sell a bit.

Salah "set' to sign for Liverpool for £40m (35 + add ons).

Bargain basement pricing compared to our Bernardo signing for £3m more, surely.

Signing Mendy and walker will provide us width allowing Pep to play inverted wingers. IMO that will allow both sterling and sane to score many more goals.

50 million for two lads in their 30s. It's gone completely nuts!!
