The View from the Away End

Not sure why, but I am having problems with the site tonight, so slightly different format

Enjoy!

Based on the comments on here and those below from our visitors, I think I can honestly say that I have no idea what is going on. One thing I will say, which I don’t think I have done so far is that I support Pep 100%, and will continue to do so. I never expected him to come in and turn us in to all conquering heroes in six months. Not only is that unrealistic, but impossible given what he started with. Having said all that, I am completely sick and tired of being miserable on match day, and I want an early Christmas present.

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Kevin Friend

Assistants: D Cann, D Eaton
Fourth official: M Clattenburg

Team Selection

Gomes

Janmaat - Britos - Prodl - Holebas

Capoue - Behrami

Amrabat - Pereyra - Success

Deeney

And the rest...

Sat and watched the Leicester game with a city fan hahahaha

We won the last game, so given our inconsistent form this will be a loss

Keep the goals conceded to a minimum, avoid any bookings/suspensions and don't risk anyone not fully fit. Concentrate on Sunderland and Palace.

Success and Amrabat could really cause them problems either side of Deeney, although it seems impossible to drop Okaka after Saturday. Suspect City will find a good performance after two poor results but we really need to target Stones and Bravo and put them under pressure. If we do we have a shot.

Was dreading playing them, but Leicester have absolutely ruined them

Re comments on Bluemoon: Interesting that. They seem to think Italian coaches have got the measure of Saint Pep The Saviour Of Football...Let's hope so eh
I can't believe what the City fans are saying. They are crapping themselves ... against the "brilliant" Watford. I only hope their right. Obviously we are under dogs against the mighty Cheque Book errr I mean City. It does show that we have come a long way from a team that everyone knows will be "spanked at City". We have a chance even if it's not particularly high, but its better than close to zero as previously

I'm astonished at the negativity, they seem to think we are a cross between 11 Terminators and Dortmund. It is Man City we are playing isn't it not a pub team?

The lack of Kompany is a God-send, in my opinion. Brilliant defender. Also, Aguero's absence helps a lot, too. Obviously I'm not saying we're going to win this, but we can at least try to take advantage, right? I seem to remember that cup game where we went 2-0 up before half-time (before losing 4-2); Aguero and Kompany were absent for the first half.

Really interesting stuff from the Man. City forums, at least they don't talk like they have some divine right to beat us like fans of some other big clubs tend to do. Their fans know what it's like to be sh*te not that long ago, so fair play to them. I do find it hilarious that with every single team we've played since October, their fans are like "oh mate I just saw Troy Deeney has 99 club goals you know it's just going to happen against us that would be classic [insert club here]"....Credit to the City fan going by the name of Jon Stakes on their forum for pointing out the interesting tidbit that Success and the Citizens' Kelechi Iheanacho were on the same U-17 World Cup side for winners Nigeria together until Success was injured...We need a defensively solid, pacey counter-attacking unit for this game. I'm usually a fan of 3 at the back but I would line us up like this:

--------------- Gomes

Janmaat -- Prodl -- Kabasele -- Holebas

------------- Behrami -
Amrabat --------------- Pereyra

Okaka --------- Deeney -------- Success

Amrabat will be needed to run their defenders into the ground on one side and then Success can do the same on the other. Capoue has been playing decently in recent matches but is worth sitting for the defensive solidity of Behrami against the likes of Nolito et. al...Not sure what to predict for this one. What is certain is that we will need to outscore them because very few sides are good enough to hold them to a clean sheet. Man. City, like Everton, are a very good team on a bad run of form and if they play like they played against Leicester City we will be able to get a result. It's on in the middle of the day for me so I won't be able to watch it live, but I'm going to predict a narrow win for City because I don't trust our defence against a much more lethal offensive unit than "Lukaku and some other guys"....Hope to be proven wrong, COYH

Our tactic must be to just put Stones under pressure. How he's considered England's best up-and-coming defender is beyond me. He is catastrophically awful.
My fear with this game is that whilst I genuinely believe we could score a couple, Man City are good enough to absolutely pummel us down the other end. It would have to be some lead for me to have any confidence in us holding it, I expect a faily good performance in a 4-1 defeat

Tough one to predict, but it's a free hit no matter how you look at it. Hopefully it won't be another Liverpool, although it could be of course...Not sure what to expect from City. They've been poor recently and without Aguero, it can only help our cause. Will it be a nervous City or a wounded animal we'll be facing? ...We'll probably lose heavily, but there is some hope that maybe, just maybe, it could be one of those special nights.

With only 650 sold I am so glad I rushed to buy mine within an hour of them going on sale. Should be a contrast to Maine Road when I last saw us play City.

F**k sake, didn't read the thread title properly and got excited thinking we were playing Manchester United at the Theatre of Dreams

I usually treat my body like a temple. Last night I treated mine like a whorehouse above a liquor store next to a motherfucking Taco Bell.

Interesting to see Bravo and Stones being picked out as the weak links. Leicester fans also picked out Stones.

The comment about the free hit rings true with most sides playing us. They take the view they are expected to lose so to gain anything is a bonus. A lot of times players up their games in those situations and that's what's happening.
