I know there's a general rumours thread but this one is gathering steam at the min.

Is he city bound??

Where would he fit in? Only seen him play against us so haven't seen a lot of him.

Has any realistic transfer fee been suggested yet, or is it still early days for that ??

I could see him slotting in right where Zabs played on Friday. I know that's Fern1's usual spot, but maybe after his raft of reds Pep might think he needs someone more reliable there. Personally I like Fern1 sticking the boot in from time to time, he might be a dirty little cunt of a player, but he's OUR dirty little cunt of a player.

Would be a great signing for us. Seems too good to be true.

Why would Barca let a player of his calibre leave in January? They are in a dogfight for the league and want to win CL.

They have been in relatively poor form (4 draws and 2 wins in their last 6 in La Liga), so is his behaviour or attitude an issue affecting the rest of the team?

Okay, so he may not be so happy or other clubs are sniffing around.

Sounds like this is a way to get a new contract.

If the rumours about Deli Alli are true, he might just be a swap for them.

Yes indeed. Expect a "City snubbed" story before the month is out

He would replace Gundy.

I would sign him in a heartbeat, but I think if we will go after him, Barcelona will try to milk us once again.

£42m is the price quoted.

he is absolutely quality and the type of player we need to compliment all the young ones we bought recently. Apparantly hasnt played last three games at all and didnt even make the bench in last one.

Sign him up!
derby day the scores were level,

It does sound much at first but when you hear that Norwich have today rejected a £10million offer for Robbie Brady it's suddenly not that much after all

Look. If we sign Rakitic, Fernando is further away from ever playing for us again. That makes us stronger and just for that reason I fully support the idea of signing this fella

From what I've heard, he had a ”discussion” with Luis Enrique about his performances that lead to that.

Both sides denying the story. Supposedly his agent is starting talks on a new contract. He's hardly playing at the moment though and the rumours will continue until and unless he resigns. For all we know Barca may give Luis Enrique the tin tack at the end of the season. He might be one for next Summer but I doubt he'll come this window.

It would be an excellent signing. The type of player we should have bought in the summer along with Gundo.

It's a huge amount to pay for him, particularly as he's 28 now and 29 in March.

I don't know how many useful years we'd get out of him if he came to us; it might not be much more than three but if Pep is only intending to stay at City for only three or four years, before retiring, he might consider it a worthwhile investment to contribute to establishing his legacy.

It might also 'buy' us a few more years before some of the very young youth team players are adjudged to be ready for the first team......although how many times in the past have we pondered that, only to find that the youngsters we had in mind were moved on out before getting their chance in the first team ??

We still have the possibility of FFP being re-vamped to purposefully catch us out and, to re-iterate, it is a heck of a lot of money for an older player.

I can't make up my mind on this one, but thankfully it's not up to me so we'll just have to sit back and see what prevails.
