Specialist Defensive Coach

Specialist Defensive Coach
Is it time to bring one in ?, one name springs to mind instantly, A man who knew how to organise a good solid defence. I accept that will never happen, still there are others out there.
It really has become a fundamental problem. Guardiiola said yesterday he doesn't have a clue why we keep conceding so many goals from first shots on goal. That was frightening. Here lies the problem,50,000 City fans do.
It is obvious we are not going to win the League this season that is acceptable. What is unacceptable is that we could miss out on top 4 completely. In my opinion we are not that shit yet. Our squad is more than capable of grinding out points against the top sides if we addapt. I thought Liverpool were dire. Arsenal, well they are just Atsenal.. I accept Chelsea and Spurs are miles ahead football wise. Still that leaves 2 places.
This is a new experience for Guardiola, right now he looks like a Fish out of water .If he wants to succeed at City, he needs to put the interests of the Club before his ego. We do need an organised defence. We are not Barcelona, or Bayern,,we wont score for fun so he can neglect the defensive duties.
This is the problem as I see it. He is setting up City to play like Barecelona with very obvious glaring inadequacies. The main one being we have a side full of players who struggle to trap, control, pass, a football. Essential for that system to work. Then there is the obvious lack of goals from midfield, and up front. He thinks we should be winning games 4-3,5-4 etc, its crazy.
In my opinion he needs a defensive Coach to work with us right now, A settled back 4 and a keeper good with his hands would help a lot.
Get through this season, hopefully finish top 4 then re-evaluate. Carry on as we are doing conceeding bucket loads of goals, he runs the risk of a few more good pastings, and the project being over before it even begun. Unless of course that’s what he really wants. With money in the bank. I highly doubt it, but you never know these days. The coming weeks we will get a much clearer picture.
