KDB. What's going on?

He is a phenomenal player. But since the turn of the year he hasn't lived up to his previous very high standards.

I dare say there are a number of factors which may have contributed to this

Personal problems/family issues
Fatigue
Playing in a slightly different, deeper role
Simply adapting to a different style of play

Could be none of the above. But whatever it is, I hope the old KDB puts his old boots on and soon. He is vital for us IMO.

Tired.

I might be wrong, but I think he is the player that played the most minutes for us this season.

Just needs to be dropped for a bit. No one is untouchable.

Can do fuck all then in the 85th minute throw in a perfect pin point cross that is harder to miss. He's the kind of player that looks like he's doing fuck all then changes the game in a minute. Like Yaya used to do.

Ade used to do that as well. Fuck all for 89 mins then pull something out.

So the managers decision is whether to hook him or hope he has a moment of magic. Last minute last night he had that chance but bottled it and put in an awful cross straight into the keepers hands. But at that moment, if Yaya wasn't on to put it in the top corner, there was no other member of the squad I would rather have had putting that cross in.

Which is the reason it's difficult to drop him as players like that are rare

It was obvious he needed hooking after 20 minutes against Monaco.

Having written that, recently I've loved watching him win the ball back for us. Whilst he's been pants going forward, his defensive work has been excellent.

im not a fan of his new position under Pep. Kev likes it i guess as he's said he's become a better player but he no longer affects the matches the way he used to.

drop him for Liverpool and bring Yaya back

It's really that simple.

He's in a bad run of form and looks tired. He needs to be dropped and eased back into the side.

Yaya should have playing on Wednesday, or at least brought on very early. Massive fuck up by Pep.

Yet every game creates two or three great opportunities that we fluff, not bad for a player who's in bad form.

His pinpoint ball through to Sterling in the second half that sterling fucked up was nearly worth the entry fee alone.

Against stoke he was apparently shit but put two pin point crosses on a plate that we should have gobbled up, thats just off top of my head im sure there were more.

Given the alternatives i suggest we play him back into form and maybe rest him for the odd easy match if hes nackered, certainly wouldnt consider dropping him for the dippers.

Coutinho not in great form, do you think they would consider dropping him against us on sunday? Not a chance.

To be fair Dub, any player in bad form is guaranteed turn it on when they play us. Lol.

No one is denying his ability or that he can turn it on, but we've been 'playing him back into form' for a couple of months now and it's clearly not working.

We could easily rest him and play Yaya and Fernandinho in the middle, with Silva, Sterling, Sane and Aguero ahead of them.

Stoke at home was the perfect opportunity to rest De Bruyne but instead Pep rested Silva and Sterling.

De Bruyne will get his form back. He's too good not to. But every player needs a rest from time to time. No harm in it.

It is not uncommon for Kev to not turn up when we need him. He wasn't the only one.
Yaya should have been on from the start and certainly should have been introduced at some point fairly early on.
To be fair to KDB, he was better in the second half, as was Dave. At that point we started creating chances.
His late free kicks to nobody were indicative of his overall display.
