'Fat Bob' Taylor, who was possibly even more appalling, cost us £1.5m in from Gillingham in 2000 - which was a lotta dosh in those days

5 goals in 12 games
and we made a 50k profit when we sold him to wolves

Just looked and Bradbury was £3m in '97. Was sold 15 months later for £1.5m. Huge sums back then

Decent shout but in terms of transfer fee and total available to spend I'd see your Bradbury and raise you Samaras. In terms of value for money in the transfer market of the time however, Steve Daly was probably even worse.

Oddly enough, Bravo is more useful in our build up play than Bony ever was and since the latter was a striker who didn't score (nor assist, nor was able to control a football) for us, you wouldn't be wrong calling him more useless. However, Bravo is a goalkeeper who, more often than not, doesn't make a save. I'd say that's more damaging, as the other players can contribute to goalscoring, but not to goalkeeping.

Both were remarkably appalling transfers in their own right.

Samaras was looking good until some Westham prick climbed up his back studs first. After that he became useless.

He didn't make a save in the games he played. I very much doubt it.
