Navas at right back

Navas at right back

Postby Spurge » Sat Apr 15, 2017 8:46 pm

Lots of rumours linking him to Sevilla next season but I think he could do a job for us at right fur back.

Bellerin linked regularly but ain't exactly having a good season is he. Navas knows pep he knows what's required of him and when called upon at right back is doing a good job. Thought he was excellent today. Can fill this position and enable us to spend money in other positions to strengthen the squad in my opinion.

From What I've seen he's been gash at right back.
Tactically struggles.

Time to move on for me.

In fairness I didn't get to watch today. But a broken clock is right twice a day. He was due a good game, so well done to him for that.

Didn't bravo get a clean sheet. Perhaps we should keep him as well

I don't think we should be looking to keep him although he has actually been pretty good in the games he has played full back for us. Against Sanchez he did well , not perfect obviously but considering Sanchez is supposed to be world class we saw very little of him so well done Navas.

Against Hazard it was much the same. Hazard got MotM which was a joke and just because he scored 2 and is flavour of the month. The 2 goals were nowt to do with Navas and did you see Hazaed skinnhing him ( like he does most players when he is on form)? Hope another good game for Navas.

Today it was another flavour of the month and new England prospect Redmond na dhe didn't let him do anything either.

I know its the done thing to have a go at Navas but he has done a great job for us there.

Anyone would have thought he plays for the dog and duck based on your appraisal. Very harsh indeed. He's done well as a right back, still blessed with pace (involved in 2 of our goals today) and never shirked his defensive duties. Looks like he's heading back to Sevilla and frankly who could blame him based on this type of slating. Keep enjoying the redtops...

He's not been good there for my money. Wingers haven't run at him enough because his positioning and body shape to defend the byline has been quite poor. He is a solid ball player tho so pep likes him there. Not for me.

In fairness if you didn't see today's game best to er well be careful what you say including your association with bravo which is completely irrelevant by means of comparison who had very few touches of the ball . I had a blinder in the pub, carefully downing each pint without spilling a drop and also managed to time each pint with a break in play be it half time or potential injury - but you didn't see that either so cant really comment. Patronising in the extreme.

Thought he played well today. His best game in his new position. But I don't think he will be here next season unless we really struggle to bring fresh recruits in.

He's not a natural defender but has done an ok job when called upon. Puts in a shift. But a fulltime RB, no thank you, we can get better suited players.

Not sure that makes a lot of sense! If his positioning and body shape was poor don't you think the wingers would have had a go at him all the more. Or maybe they didn't because his positioning and body shape was actually pretty good?

He's done really well there but isn't a permanent solution

He's done ok. But to justify converting an attacking player into a defender we need to reap the benefits of his attack. I reckon Pab Zab attacks better. Pan Zab also defends better.

Worth a try and I'm happy for him to be given the rest of the season to show that he can make a go of it.

We can (and hopefully will) get better players.
There are those at the club paid considerable salaries to oversee 'recruitment'.
As fans who or what at we think is largely irrelevant.

It makes sense just fine. I've seen him under no real threat turn 180 and be miles away. The fact that he got Sanchez uninterested and at his lowest ebb for arsenal is just dumb luck.

He's not a tackler, doesn't mark tight and is not in sync with the rest of the team. Let's not forget before yesterday his stint at RB has come in the middle of our longest run without a win as well.
