I don't understand why they can't come up with an 'app' for players to use, to take maybe five minutes to complete on their handheld device of choice while walking from training to their car - it could even nag them by text message to complete it if they were lazy cunts.

Wonderwall wrote:The problem with the yearly vote is because it's based flavour of the moment. If there was a team of the decade or a premier league all ri e team. Silva, Kun, Yaya and Kompany would all be in with a shout with Silva and Kun favourites to make the first 11.

They'd find a way around that as well. Gary Cahill (3) has made the PFA Team of the Year more often than Kompany (2). Silva made it once and Yaya twice, no chance they'd make it over the likes of Hazard (4) or Bale (3) & I bet they'd shoehorn Terry & Gerrard into it as well.

Imagine if Pep bins Agüero and wins the league next season. The poor fella will be erased from the Premier League history books and the only footnote remaining will be that goal. 'Oh do you remember that Argie fella? Yeah, he scored that crazy title-winning goal. He was quite good, wasn't he. No patch on Robin van Persie though.'

Here's another peculiar fact for all of us: Richard Dunne was voted into the PFA Team of the Year once in his entire career. In the season 2009-10, playing for Villa.

Why make a whole app when it takes 5 minutes to setup a Google Form or Survey Monkey page?

Insane that this isn't voted the day after the season ends. It takes more time to make a sandwich than setup an online poll.

Mooy in the PFA Championship team of the year 2017.

Perhaps they don't know?..

Wouldn't be in there if he'd ever pulled on a City shirt. :(

Other seasons we have been massively hard done too but IMO not this season. Sterling has played well and Sane since the turn of the year but not consistent as other players in the list.

To me that's really what it is. Players probably watch MOTD and maybe CL games, matches with two big clubs, and the bottom line is Silva has not scored for us at a rate that an average football fan will see unless they watch him game to game.

I also don't think we can have a huge grip with some of the picks.

Mane has been extremely important to Liverpool. Lukaku vs. Aguero in terms of talent is not a debate, but Lukaku has scored more goals and I think had more games with multiple goals than Sergio seemed to this season. We also have not been as good of a team as expected so despite some of our players' performances, we have under performed compared to others.

Did KDB make the team last season? He should have, but he also had a long injury, although so did Mane. Yet, we also under performed last season whilst Liverpool was in first going into the New Year, dropped off when he became injured.

You can make the strongest case for Sterling to be in the Young Players' short list, at least. To me that's the most egregious omission, yet his finishing and rep for diving may also have affected this.

Delli boy ahead of Merlin or Kev, Kane & Lukaku ahead of Sergio, Mane ahead of Sterling or Sane - a joke and a sick joke at that :x

There are parallels here with the British and Irish Lions and squad / team selection.

Players selected out of prejudice;
Better Players Ignored;

The fact is that opinions matter more than facts in these processes especially when prozone gives controlling bodies, officials and managers all the information they need.

Is the full list of votes available anywhere to look up. It would be interesting to see how many votes Silva got.

We won the league twice did either of our league winning Managers win Manager of the year NO THEY DID NOT. The awards on both occasions went to Managers who won the square root of fuck all namely Tony Pulis and Brentan Rogers. Enough said.
