It would be a massive thing for my teams because we would win a lot of games. But I don't want to put pressure on Kevin's shoulders. Kevin is an outstanding, amazing player. He is a humble guy and all his team-mates love him. He wants to play every single game, he fights until the end but I don't help him by comparing him with Messi. Messi is apart. He is a guy who has scored 60 goals every season for eight or nine years." "

Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Agreed. He's not comparing like with like (position, skills, team mates, team style of play, manager, league). It isn't De Bruyne's job to score 60 goals every season.

Id like him to cease mentioning anything connected to fuckign Barcelona for at least one calendar month.

He did last June, I think.

There was an interesting comment by Pep post match, which none of the interviewers followed up, along the lines of ‘I know how to punish teams now’ (being one of the differences from last season). Clearly that is the case, but it would be fascinating to know the details.

THIS!

then, my longstanding admiration of his football mind will be ready to progress towards something more sentimental.

go there a forthnight a year, talk local politics, culture, whatever... remaining 50 weeks, fucking fly the badge of the employer which pays you top of the market!
It's the fucking way the world go round!

"many will point to an encompassing feeling of togetherness among the whole organisation."

Holistically holistic.

It would be an alright read if they didn't keep on confusing percent with percentage points.

Their mathematical ignorance drives me crazy.

Sterling's equaliser against Everton.

Was that the one where he did "a Messi" and ran through their defence? We've scored so many I'm struggling to remember.

No, it was when an Everton defender beat De Bruyne to the ball and headed an assist back across the box to a waiting Sterling by the penalty spot.
