There is no specific number of years set in stone for a testimonial. In years gone by it was deemed 10 years was a good number to base it on but the fact is there isn't any rule on this. It's up to the player and the club to determine if they would like one.I prefer a testimonial to be played when someone is hanging their boots up for good. Maybe let zaba come back in 3 years and have one then.

I loved Dunney but A) he didn't fit that team at all B) he had been pretty terrible for year and a half and it was starting to turn sour. It ws absolutely the right time for him proven by the fact that some (most?) people have already forgotten how terrible he was in the end. Which is the way it should be with club legends.
