even without the milk toss, he's quickly become one of my fav players. never seen a keeper as brave or as calm under pressure.

Must say I was really unsure when we bought him. I thought it was a hell of a price for a guy with one season of European football under his belt and In an inferior league as well. And not even a full International.

But fuck me, could not have been more wrong.

Fearless, calm, immense skill on the ball, superb distribution. You couldn't hand pick better attributes for a Pep goalkeeper and this lad has it in spades. Not shabby when it comes down to making saves either.

Really hope we get a decade out of this fella

John Wayne said to him "get off your horse and drink your milk", so he did.

Did anyone else see him take out Otamendi (I think) towards the end of yesterday's game? Spurs were attacking, there was a bit of pinball in the box, and he seemed to slide in nowhere near the ball and take out one of our defenders, somehow the ball got blocked and cleared. So funny.

He was immense yesterday too. That pass to Raheem in the second half :o

He really reminds me of Dida, when Milan won the Champions Cup with him. He is till making some mistakes, but really he is the sheriff of his area.

Anyone see charagher and Terry talking about this on sky. Ederson adds such a dangerous dimension to our game it's unreal. As good as degea is edersons passing ability is out of this world and makes him a better fit for pep. Game changer our keeper...

ESPN has him has the best signing of this calendar year:

Best signing: Ederson (Manchester City)

Manchester City invested £34.7m in Benfica goalkeeper Ederson during the summer and the Brazilian has been a revelation at the Etihad this season. The 24-year-old has been a reliable shot-stopper and communicator behind Pep Guardiola's defence, but his distribution from the back has been crucial to City's form this term and he has made Claudio Bravo seem like nothing more than a bad memory.

side note: Joe was the worst signing of 2017. how the mighty have fallen.

If we’re going off changing the dynamics of a team, then 100% it’s Ed. Salah has been quality but he’s not really changed much of what Liverpool do fundamentally. Ederson has completely changed us and we’re now able to play from the back because of him. When we’re in trouble at the back he’ll ping out a pass from nowhere and pick out someone stood in the other half. Bravo just panicked and gave it back to the opposition.

If he wasn’t such a good shot stopper I’d be convinced he’s a midfield playmaker.

Would it be considered a midlife crisis for a 40 year old to get a smiley face tattoo behind his left ear?
