To be fair, it was a very good finish, and he was trying to prevent the more likely low shot, which instead the player cleverly chipped...

Yet, as some have stated...he seems to never make consecutive big saves against shots that are difficult to stop.

Maybe it's just regression, but It's hard to not wonder given the lack of big saves he has made since joining us.

Anyone see the German B team play against Mexico?

I only saw extended highlights, but they looked impressive, and the goals were fantastic.

Mexico had a lot of possession and had some chances that they could have converted, and some said the result was harsh on them, yet ESPNFC pundits (Craig "loudmouth" Burley) went off on Mexico as I've not heard them do other than when discussing Arsenal :D .

Sane can't even get into the team or even the bench (is he inured?).

Impressive how they turn out so much talent.

Final against a very experienced Chile side is very intriguing.

They are like a machine. Very impressive.

Sane opted out of the squad to have surgery done on his nose over the summer.

VAR fail on that non-red card against Chile, down one goal in a Final, it seems.

Good job of promoting it's value, FIFA. Ref saw it and said no red card?

That's pretty much going to confirm what our fans think will happen when the same thing happens whilst anyone (especially us) play against Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Barca, etc. (i.e. non red card against Chelsea this past year, Rojo non-cards, etc.)

Frantic sequence there. Chile pushing forward but leaving themselves exposed...

You can see Alexis' value tremendously there. His work rate and movement transforming the side after almost being down a man. Manager seems to have changed tactics as well, but in part because of players like Sanchez.

What are they reviewing, the pen? FIFA awful with the use of VAR tonight. Do they need to send some Yanks over to help manage this kind of thing as we have been doing this for a long time? haha

Germans looking a little nervous. Inexperience kicking in?

They're stacking the box, but width seems like the answer, but Chile not with a lot of size (probably why Low using such a defensive tactic: like playing against us)

Gonna expect subs for a pacey winger and someone good in the air.

Problem is Germans I don't think so bad in the air.

Claudio, you're a City player. Don't you know what they could send you off so easily?

The machine lives on...

Well deserved. Seeing a HUGE rivalry developing between Germany and France in the next few WC's and Euros with all of their young talent. I know Spain and others are there, but those two seem ahead of their class with the next generations to top level status...

Good luck picking which players are a shoe in for the German WC team in 2 years. Most countries you know most who will be in.

Some left out could end up being amongst the best players on some beyond knockout round level nations.

Bernardo was ruled out of Portugal's 3rd place match against Mexico with an injured ankle.

Returnees aside, if injured regulars like Aguero, Mendy and Gundogan were match fit and Yaya took up his permanent invitation to rejoin the Elephants, our whole squad would be away on international duty - except poor Mango - and if he got the odd game he'd probably have a few more call ups from the frogs .

yes to the latter. actually the league I try to follow more, after EPL.

hate these breaks, btw.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!

The powers that be all probably support Madrid. They would only be too glad to fuck Barcelona off, both out of the CL and la Liga. Can't see it happening though. Barcelona might claim to have principles as a football club but it means nothing when the money runs out. They will still be in la Liga regardless
