I'm not sure everyone would have Messi No.64, as his worth to a team is now, probably, less than his value but you're right about it being a funny old world.

Messi turned 30 a few weeks ago

He probably wouldn't be good enough to get into our team anyway WW

Just as an aside, this Sanchez debate has a curious parallel with an earlier time.

In 1972, City bought Rodney Marsh, who was then 28 years of age, for the then massive transfer sum of £200,000.

There were certainly mixed feelings expressed about that transaction and even Joe Mercer had concerns which he aired publicly.

I must be a complete hypocrite because I was in favour of that transfer, although many weren't..........

Yes but that was near the end of the season, when we'd all but won the league.
Rodney would have been a different proposition if they had left the team alone, and bought him when the season was finished.
Would have given them the chance to get the fat bstad fit too.

Rodney joined in March. Franny should have been fit by then.

There were nine games to go when he joined. If I hadn't looked that up, I'd have sworn no more than five or six. Bloody senility.
Franny reckoned he was just big boned.
I've never seen rolls of bone on anyone else though.

I've got an abiding memory of him sitting on the pitch, towards the end of his first game for us, socks rolled down suffering from cramp.

That'd be good. Let him drain all their transfer budget.

He may or may not be pretty good but that's irrelevant here as he's just regurgitating info from a Chilean newspaper.

sorry, i beg to differ.

if you have a good reputation to uphold you make sure that when you quote someone else's opinion that it is something that aligns with your opinion and/or what you've been told.

so, i see it as: if he's good and he's reporting this then the source is probably pretty good.
now, im not saying that because he out out this tweet this means our chances of Alexis are done. im just posting what a good source on Twitter has said about a relevant transfer instead of something some egg on twitter posted.

Does not make sense to me that he would stay at Arsenal.

He will earn as much money elsewhere and he might actually win a few things if he moves.
Arsenal get a massive fee for a 28 year old who is out of contract in a year.

I will be surprised of he does not move.

This fella usually gets his stuff second hand and just creates story's that are already out there to get twitter followers. He is usually wrong when he guesses for himself

The latter paragraph is about how the president of Bayern Munich isn't paying 100 million euros "for a 29 year old player"
