If he'd have signed, I wouldn't be too concerned about our defence.

Every cunt and his dog knows it was clear cut chances not taken that cost us last season.

His stats at arsenal last season were ridiculous.
On both assists and goals.

I firmly believe he was a title changer

While I agree with the sentiment, if Kun and Jesus can't score in this team, why would Sanchez do any better?
It's not the quality of our finishers that's the issue, it's something else, and it's been like that since Peller's last season.
As an example, Bony was scoring for fun at Swansea, the sentiment was that if he could do that in a shit team, he'd have a field day with the chances we create. We all know what happened next.
I reckon it's that bloody gypsy curse has followed us from Maine Road

But Aguero can score. Jesus possibly will score plenty but we don't know yet.

And none of the midfielders score enough. Only Sterling reached double figures last year.

So we have 2 strikers, including 1 still learning his trade.

I'd like to know why we waited until this week to make an offer. We should have finalised this earlier in the summer.

The one who is 'learning his trade' is already one of the best in the PL and soon to be among the best in the world.

Indeed, and that's the point I was making.
If two of the best strikers in the world are missing multiple chances, there's something amiss.
It's not a lot of point saying Kun "can score", because often he can't.
And if two of the world's best goalscorers are finding it difficult to score regularly, why do we think that Sanchez will do any better.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we sign him on loan or permanently in January. If Arsenal are struggling and he's not playing his best he could come loose. We're keeping close to him and will, at worst, want a pre contract signed as early as possible in January because he could go elsewhere.

I don't think the problem is our strikers not scoring, Aguero struggled first half of last season but scored 9 in the last 14 PL games and Jesus record with us is prolific so far. The problem for me is lack of goals from elsewhere.

I suppose PB, that the optimistic reasoning of those who wanted Sanchez at City was that if he could score goals at a place like Arsenal, he could surely do it for us.

I'm not sure if that's a valid conclusion to be drawn, or not.

Crikey, if that's correct, it could be most interesting. I wonder what charge we would be laying down :- breach of contract/agreement in some form ??

Moreover, if our owners are prepared to do this, they might then be more prepared to issue law suits against some of the 'journalists', who besmirch City's name with their lies and fabrications.

I hope this information is genuine.

That's the @City_Watch tweet, the only source I can find for this.

"Manchester City will make an official complaint against Arsenal as they believe Alexis Sanchez signed a City contract yesterday. [@Emol]"

Emol are a Chilean media organisation.

He can't sign a contract unless Arse approve it in writing. So a load of bollocks.
