Anyone know whether Sanchez would be Cup tied for the CL if he plays in the Europa? I would have thought not. Could be highly relevant in January.

It used to be not, but they change the rules every 5 minutes. If anyone transfers to City, they will be cup tied - simple!

It seems to be that you can play for a different team in the group qualifying round and the knockouts provided the original team aren't in the same competition.
A maximum of three new players can be named by 2nd of February.
I think what it really means is you can play for Arsenal in the Europa groups and then for City in the knockouts of the CL, but you couldn't play for City in the group of CL, come third and enter the Eutopa and then play for Arsenal.

That's my reading of the rule but I might be getting it arseways.

I was certain our club has/had a contract ready for him.

City said to be lining up a £20m offer for Sanchez in January. Subsequent to that rumour, Chile have failed to qualify to the WC finals. That leaves only the CL knockout stage with us for Sanchez to aim for this season, assuming we get through the group stage of course. He will also have a league cup and FA cup final to look forward to if he comes in January, and our title run in (even if he does not qualify for a medal) - and thrashing the Arse at the Emirates in February!

I would give the feeder club 20 for him, and tell them to be grateful they are getting that much, good little tarquins.

if i was him id sit on my arse for the year and make sure im not injured. No world cup at stake so why risk his career? Either move to city in jan or sit it out till the summer when he sets himself up for life and gets back playing. Win win for him

If we sign him for say 25 mill add that to Jesus, will we get any credit, two world class players, 40 goals a season for less that 60 mill.
