He won't get away with a slap like the one he did on Fernandinho yesterday if he has got a City shirt on either.

To be fair he was copying what Ferdy did to him half a second before. But to link to another topic - Ferdy seems to be getting away with a ot these days. Long may it continue. Bloody good player.

Was he? Didn't see that.

But then I wouldn't. I am somewhat biased.

It is worth noting that we have only got one non-home-grown slot available unless we can ship out Mangala.

1) Sanchez is 28

2) 3 free list places available if Mangala goes, Mendy is removed and when Muric becomes eligible for the B list in January.

still about the point of assessing pros and cons (or call it RoI), beside the pure monetary bargain (and possibly the vicious pleasure at exposing the paedo by taking him for 10mil in jan or free next summer)?
do we really, as a roster and as a dressing room, need him?

ive made my feelings on this twunt well known. i dont care that he might improve us. i dont care that he's "cheap" (although his transfer fee is nothing compared to the wages we'd have to shell out). i dont want him anywhere near our squad, and i suspect nearly all - bravo the lone exception - of our players would agree.

Just for accuracy, Sanchez was born in December 1988.

If we sign him in the January window, he'll be 29 and, if we wait until the summer to get him for nothing, he'll be well on his way to 30.

His best years will soon be behind him and he's hardly a longer term prospect.

This seems, to me, to be akin to a Mourhino short term type of signing, rather than anything centred around team building.

Perhaps why Pep wants him, for the here and now to take some of the pressure off Sterling and Sane and not stunt their development in the long run that bringing in a younger attacking option may do.

It will also free up Bernardo to play centrally more often.

I have to say though that I'm less sure now than I was in the summer that this is the right move.

Interestingly, for me, the Folgore was an Italian destroyer in WW II - the lead ship in a class of four vessels (Folgore, Balino, Fulmine and Lampo), all of which were sunk in that conflict.

Beautiful looking, elegant warships. :)

sorry for keep You waiting.
I think You mean "The Battle of Skerki Bank" where You Brit lot taught us a lesson or two on what is like being the ruling Nation of the seven seas. I also think it was one of those occasions where we flew the flag with decent dignity, as generally accorded with our little Navy best tradition in that pantomime of war from our fascist side.

If You entertain a little bond with one of those superbly trained of Your British Guys, you may be confirmed that the little military respect we still, somehow, hold among international professionals, largely belong to the traditions carried on by those guys
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paratroop ... de_Folgore
unfortunately, they also carry on with a steady nasty obsession with the most fascists tradition (should have saw my dad face when I announced I signed to serve my draft there! a typical youthish overflown of testosterone)

Overall, as much as I love to share our mutual interest on historical talks, I would strongly suggest to spin it off to Danny's off topic section, before a few livers start to implode and jump on "my usual desire for hacking any football" thread with personal, irrelevant comments.

he's 28, in fighting trim and arguably at the peak of his powers - who knows where his best years lie - behind or ahead? I'd say ahead if he helps us to a few pots :D

More and more I think we should wait until the summer if possible.
Unless Sergio breaks down and I might change my mind

Sanchez is a cracking player that would get in any team in europe, however I do not think he is a City type player in our squad at present tbh
