What amazes me is how Chelsea manage to get such huge fees for average players - they bought Matic for £20m 3 years ago, so he is 3 years older (29) and yet moves for £40m - replaced with Bakayoko for just under £40m and many years younger (22).

Don't forget the role of the great negotiator, Uncle Ed. He is the sort of guy to pay £50 for two twenty pound notes!

If we're lucky NB, it might come sooner than that.
If all his expensive purchases don't shape up and they do a Chelsea, scumming around in mid-table, then even the patient Swampland hierarchy might demand he falls on his sword.
Repeating his Chelsea implosion would be so nicely ironic.

3 years with the option of a 4th I presume the cost will be taken over the 4 years seems to be the norm at the moment

Neymar now a done deal. £200m. Cue lots of hand wringing and talk of how the world has lost the plot and how many hospitals it could build or mouths it could feed in the third world.
I personally don't have a issue with the fee, just the player who costs it.
Hold on to your hats dippers, Barca are coming for your star man

2 DUP MPs I heard - seriously though it'll serve them right for putting a buy out clause in his contract & for making the club all about Messi

To be fair every La Liga player has to have a buyout. It's mandatory.

Davy Propper signs for Brighton from PSV for a reported club record £6m.
Can see the headlines on Sunday morning. "Brightons new signing looks a Propper Charlie after Brighton given an opening day lesson by Peps City"

Watford have signed Richarlison from Brazilian club Fluminense on a five year deal for a fee of around £11m. He is a Brazilian under 20 International. Could be a very decent acquisition.
