August can't come soon enough.

Summer just draaaaaaggs, only the occasional signing to keep us titillated.

One good thing about the summer though, in Ireland we have GAA championship which is high quality amateur sport, Football and Hurling. I think they are showing these on Sky Sports.

Mayo v Derry wasn't exactly top quality football on Saturday. It proved to be exciting in the end, but the finishing by both teams was atrocious.
Galway looked very efficient in the hurling on Sunday.

I saw a bit of Galway game, the skills of the hurlers always amaze me, some of the stuff is bordering on ridiculous.

Which would you prefer IWT, football or hurling? I'm a Dub so I'm partial to football, which is generally more exciting, but hurling on TV, with replay action, is astounding at times.

I'm a Dub and I say the hurling by a mile.
The football doesn't really get the same quality until the semis or the final.
Dublin v Kerry semi final a few years back was as good as it gets and I wish it was all like that, but it's not.

Tom Ince signs for Huddersfield from Derby for an undisclosed fee. Getting their business done nice and early it would appear.

I find the refereeing in Gaelic games totally inconsistent but Hawkeye works very well.
Quite s few decisions called over the weekend. Particularly needed in the hurling.

I'd love to see him booting the rags up and down on Derby day.

Agree, inconsistent is bang on the money. You've probably watched this documentary but I'll post the link in case you haven't, it's worth a watch.
The bit with the ref is what really caught my eye/ear, seeing the game from pitch level and hearing the interaction with the ref and players gives a totally different perspective on the game and makes his decisions easier to accept.

Tammy Abraham signs a five year deal at Chelsea and is then loaned to Swansea for a year where he will link up again with Paul Clement who used to be a coach at Chelsea.

That was a very fascinating film for an outsider like me. Gaelic football looks like a great sport!
I wish there were subtitles for the old geezer from Kerry, though :-)

If only we had a Paul Clement.

Sale with buyback clause sounds good to me if we can do it.

good to see all that sky/bt money flowing out of the country. european clubs must be pissing themselves at the fees english clubs are willing to pay.
