Welcome Ben! I know you fell asleep at the airport and didn't want to leave Portsmouth but I can see you being big here, possibly pretending to score in a Derby and having a shit celebration.

2 games this season and 3 official assists. Two today, Jesus’s and Aguero’s second we’re not directly attributed to him, although you could argue very strongly he was the chief architect. That in my book makes 5. Which is more than the left backs last season managed between them. And even with 3 he leads the PL chart!

I know he is erratic at the back currently, but I’m sure this is being worked on in training. But what he has to offer going forward is incredible and I suspect it is this which in Peps mind outweighs the errors at the back. He is a beast on the offensive and a full back facing him in full flight must just shit himself that he will either be made to look foolish, or need to take a booking for the team and risk a red card later in the match or have the game of his life.

Just like the old school premier league. Whipping them in from wide.

He's got a bit of flair about him too. 2 or 3 nutmegs yesterday.

Imagine if Edin was still with us. I'd back him in to win the golden boot.

A few people have said that, however there's no difference to the balls being whipped in by Kolarov. And Dzonkey still didn't win the golden boot.

Hmmm, I get what you're saying Mase. I think that Mendy has a different trajectory on his crosses. Could be wrong. But that's the gut feel.

I think there is a difference or differences.

First one being Mendy doesn't need that extra touch that Kolarov often needed before crossing. I also believe there's more finesse to Mendy's crossing, he picks players out rather than just whipping dangerous crosses in.

Still early days though, here's hoping he can do it consistently.
