Lets put it this way we signed clichy at 25. However mendy is better now than clichy was at 25.
Can't argue with that.

Wasn't Clichy 31 when we signed him?

No. Although at times last season he looked 41!

Pretty flipping excited for Mendy! I went to bed last night as he was about to depart and woke up to news of his arriving at LAX! This year is looking kinda promising. Now if we can nail down Sanchez... :)

I wouldn't get too excited mate. Hopefully better than Clichy but no Roberto Carlos, Alves ot Maicon (when he could play). We have to pay the money and I wouldn't argue with that - what choice have we? But steady on the expectation - we have a left back.

More crosses in the champs league last season than any other player - including one against us at the Etihad last season that was also an assist. So a defender yes but also very attack minded - does that help with the excitement levels?

Problem with that is we need to sign that Edin Dzeko fellow to get on the end of them.

I think I'll nickname him Benjimen. As in Benji-men.
Or Bendymendy.

He'll be Bendy to me, the commentators will struggle when Otter plays - double mendy, like an echo
