not sure what monaco are doing wrong?
they had the best young side that europe has seen for many a year and the big clubs are hovering over them like vultures.

L'Equipe running very strongly that a new offer fourth offer has been made by City and its all over bar a few details to be settled tomorrow morning. Clearly we're stumping up pretty much the Walker price.

what's happening at 02.30? EDIT - never mind - I've just checked what day it is. At least I knew what week it was this time, that has to be progress.

But with the Walker deal happening at the same time, they were waiting to see the outcome of that. Now they see how much we were willing to go to it doesn't surprise me that they're holding out for more. If I was in their situation I would do the same thing as they are losing most of their best players this summer.

Plus we have no choice. Years of bad planning has left us in a position of having no full backs. Zabaleta was finished 2 years ago, Clichy at least 1 (probably longer) and Kolarov is not good enough. If Txiki had done his job properly this situation could have been completely avoided.

We need a top class left back very badly as tonight showed. Kolarov clearly leaving and he wasn't good enough. Mendy absolutely must come. Monaco know we're desperate and we'll just have to pay up Txiki put us in a dreadful position by poor planning and we're paying the penalty. Good news is we'll be miles better with Walker and Mendy next season.

Bit of a perfect storm in that Clichy, Sagna, Zaba and kolarov all came home to roost as it were at the same time. If we'd signed anyone else last year they wouldn't have got a game - catch 22 like having to pay the price to get players.

Also there may have beena hope Angelino would come through - which he clearly is not going to.

Good point made pal , I would still tell Mendy , his agent and Monaco to go fuck themselves though even over £5 million ! Even if this player does arrive it's all a bit odious but I guess I love my club too much maybe ?
