Go fuck yourself with this absurd shit of a post ! very cuntish indeed !

Bony fucking hopeless and here for the money nothing else now fucking do one !

What did you mean, though? That Mendy is only coming for the cash?

He's a 23 and one of the best – or at least most promising – fullbacks in the world. He's basically been our main target this window. How is that comparable to an ad hoc January signing like Bony?

Pretty certain Ederson , Silva and Walker were our main targets and those deals got tied up pretty smoothly and quietly . Also Sanchez ? Mendy yes he looks very decent but the whole saga seems a bit of a piss take and all about the money and what we were willing to pay for Walker so basically holding MCFC to ransom and like I say lets hope he (Mendy) proves himself to be a top player for us . Nothing more nothing else !

how do you know that Mendy is all about the money? stuff online (could be wrong) says he agreed weeks ago with the club.
Monaco was the one holding it up and demanding as much money as possible--as they should. transfers are all about money for the selling club--as they should be.

not sure what the issue is here.....sure, its unfortunate to have paid this much for him but he's young and talented and Txiki has done a horrible job since he's been here not overpaying for players. so, every club in the world knows they can get more out of us.

Sort of agree with you , Mendy wont have done any negotiating though as he is a footballer but mostly spending his time on various beaches around the world and fucking about on twitter ............ his agent and Monaco on the other hand have been fucking us over for some considerable time . Hey £50 million who gives a fuck ??? lets hope he does the business on the pitch for us after weeks and weeks of clowning around .

The all about the money was Monaco holding out for top dollar. The comparison with Bony is plain silly.

It is true they are both black.

It may be that City64 considers they were both overpriced and both are also native French speakers of course, although that does not seem to be relevant.

Got to say I also have reservations about this signing. The proof will be determined over the next couple of years but he doesn't excite me the way the signing of Bernado Silva did. I suppose it's because he's a defender and it's the forwards that get the glory.

From that collection of action shots, he seems to be able to tackle without having to go to ground, which is always a bonus.

Moreover, at 6'1", in theory he might be useful at defending when the ball is in the air.

More crosses in the champs league last season than any other player - including one against us at the Etihad last season that was also an assist. So a defender yes but also very attack minded - does that help with the excitement levels?

Having watched the above videoclip I am warming to him. He is obviously a very competent player, both in defence and attack. He ticks a lot of the boxes we want and I doubt there are lots of viable alternatives out there. I think my issue is it's a huge sum of money for a full back and we've already spent £45m on the right hand side with a further £26m lined up as cover for both sides in Danilo. Of course, these figures are not the players fault, but spending these sums in question is not something I personally am keen on.

Glad it's done. He has a few harts to win though.

Lets put it this way we signed clichy at 25. However mendy is better now than clichy was at 25.
Can't argue with that.

Wasn't Clichy 31 when we signed him?

The fact he was part of a defence that conceded ao many goals to us and was opened up every time we went forward worries me.

Hopefully we will be scoring so many goals it wont matter tho.

He was but I don't see a rush for the GK, two CB or the RB so maybe it's just that those around him were shite?

What is this "all about money" nonsense. They are professional footballers. Of course they are all about money. It's their fucking job.

Anyway, good going forward but suspect at defending. Model of modern fullback. Long time members know I don't get those but that's the way modern football is played I suppose. Overall good signing. Welcome!
