That seems to be that for full backs with Danilo providing cover at left and right back. Looks like a Centre Back plus Sanchez or AN Other will complete our window. Would have loved Weigl from Borussia but I'm being greedy. 6 foot 2 and so gifted. Could replace Yaya next season perhaps if he hasn't been snapped up by then.

BendyMendy was the first thing that went through my head also, on hearing he might/might not/is/maybe not/definitely/mightn't be/could/should/will/has joined us.

When it comes to comparing strikers to left backs, I come to the conclusion they aren't actually that comparable. Does that make me full of shit? Jesus Navas almighty

Happy with this signing.

I think Ben will help to Mend a lot of Y's at the back.
Thanks again, Monaco.

I think this thread needs a bit of a soundtrack ;)

Mmmmm....John Phillips 'playing' a Gibson ES 345, by the looks of it.

A prohibitively and disgustingly expensive guitar for someone who was just a mere strummer and little more, although as a poser's prop it's probably unsurpassed :- an example of pop excess to the extreme. :ugeek: :ugeek:

I wouldn't get too excited mate. Hopefully better than Clichy but no Roberto Carlos, Alves ot Maicon (when he could play). We have to pay the money and I wouldn't argue with that - what choice have we? But steady on the expectation - we have a left back.

Oh I think certainly better than Clichy! On a pure stats breakdown they're very similar, except he's more of a play-maker with 8 assists, most in Ligue 1, to Clichy's goose egg. Then again he also gets more cards, but I'm assuming that's feistiness & passion! He's bigger, he's bulkier, he makes his presence known on the field with MotM 5 times to Gaƫl's 0...he feels a bit like a junior Yaya!

Prices are what they are, the inflation in pay is alarming sometimes but seems to be a solid trend so might as well not worry. Hey, it's not my money!

I can't help it, I'm a hopeless optimist and I really think it was a good purchase!

In all fairness PD, there weren't any keyboards to look at. ;)
