Tbf, Walker didn't say anything in the immediate run up him signing....

Mendy was posting shit when on holidays but been quiet since returning to club (hopefully out of respect to both clubs).

In pounds, they now want £50M the same we paid for Walker which equates to about just shy of 56M Euro's opposed to the original 50M Euro....

Not surprising to see Monaco ask for more. They'll be expecting the same fee as what we paid for Walker.

I hope we're interested in Bertrand. He wouldn't cost as much although Southampton probably would push the fee to around 40m.

It's great that we're signing good players but it's still ridiculous we've allowed ourselves to get into a situation where we had no full backs at the beginning of the summer. Clubs know they can hold us to ransom as we have no choice but to pay what they are asking (especially as we have no intention of making a youth player one of the two full backs on each side).

Correct about letting them go without replacing, that said i am sure the whole world knew we couldn't have gone another season with what we had so hardly a secret being honest.

Lets not forget Monaco have already signed Mendy's replacement in Kongolo. They won't want to still have Mendy come September.

This is why I had an issue with the fee for Walker.

We should have nailed down Mendy before we got Walker. Big mistake by Txiki. It's pay up or fuck off time now I'm afraid.

Monaco can do one if they think they are comparing apples with apples when it comes to mendy vs walker - mendy isn't 1) homegrown 2) premier league experienced 3) not weakening a rival unless you count champs league
