What is it with new keepers debuting vs United and coming out of their box like an idiot?

Looks like nothing has changed. Possession, no end product, hit on the counter attack, by a pretty ordinary united side.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

Foden bright spot of the half. Beautiful touch and good awareness. Only 17 too

If we'd been given - and scored - that penalty on 29 minutes it would have been a different game.

I think we'll do alright but we DO need to produce an end product to all this fancy possession and that will hopefully come with match sharpness.

Not happy to lose obviously but not to unhappy with that. Some players clearly nowhere near fit yet but up to the crazy Ederson moment i thought we more then held our own.

The scum tactics very clear. Massed defence, foul if there is a threat and break quickly with a long ball to one of the big fast guys. Sadly it worked with the long one to lukaku who was left along and Ederson went loopy. But I am sure he will be fine and I hope the loons on here and elsewhere don't start going for him.

Yes a limited threat against them but some very nice football as you would expect but with both Aguero and Jesus not even close to ready we lacked any edge. Vinnie I thought looked great , Walker will be massive for us and showed it tonight ( Rashford had to go to the other side), Foden looks the business. Even though not the boss of midfield he was very good on the ball and just very comfortable.

Nasri looked decent, Mangala at full back was ok too despite a red reporter saying he would be embarrassed. Stones was not good.

This was our first pre season game and United had played two already. They were bound to win. No significance at all. Yaya fresh off the plane FFS. Mangala is no left back or any other type player of City calibre. If Nasri ever got his shit together he certainly is. Foden really promising. Txiki Txiki sign him up Txiki sign him up.

This is why we shouldn't be playing derby games in fucking Houston. Should build fitness, confidence and team atmosphere slowly. This is why we should play Stockport or Oldham or, if we are absolutely persistent about starting the preseason outside the country, some shittier than shite local team.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
