Spanish FA Boss Arrested

Postby johnny crossan » Tue Jul 18, 2017 8:41 am

Police just raided the Spanish FA headquarters and arrested the head honcho and his son. Corruption is alleged.

I wouldn't be looking down the nose at the Spanish.
Corruption in Football is not limited to Spain, its a worldwide phenomenon.
Last seasons PL prime example.

Sorry I didn't mean just in football. It started somewhere in Phillip II's administration, followed down through every one since, some more notable than others (Dictatorships), and follows through to illegal building in the 90s and 2000s, Marbella and all that. I'm a big hispanophile, but it's a national pastime. There's been massive attempts to clamp down in the last 10 years, but it keeps coming out.

And there's still loads of local officials/mayors being lifted now, it'll take years yet

I'm even more well up on the Visigoths. You get bored when you are too old to play sport! :-)

In fact, if you've never seen this story, it's a must read you will laugh out loud at the ineptness of it all....

You just can't trust Johnny Foreigner.

Mind you, Soccs is alright, though.

How very true   .

I can well understand how you can be a "big hispanophile"; I feel the same about Sweden and its past.

History is an all consuming interest.
