Charity Shield

We're into the second half and I just realised that the interest is so low we hadn't even started s match thread.

Anyway it's been poor enough but Arsenal with typical set piece defending have gone s goal down. Chelsea have looked pretty toothless up until that.
Moses pounced on a header into the box after Arsenal failed to clear s corner.

Wembley looks half empty. Real is flat.
Even the commentators finding it hard to make anything of it.

Here comes Morata, let's see what he's to offer in 16 minutes...

Pedro red carded. From the free, Kolasinac equalizes.
Chelsea look really lacklustre.

It's coming to something when your expert referee in the studio is Clattenberg

Since when do you get four subs in regular time?

Pedro rightly sent off, dangerous with out a doubt!

Sadly I cannot see chelski lasting ET, really don't want Gooners winning this one.

There is no ET. Straight to ABBA pens

And he got the yellow card in the first half, for diving in the box wrong.

Took about 5 replays before he admitted that It wasn't s peno but Willian hadn't dived.

They are allowing 6 subs today, no extra time, straight to new format penalties, ABBA

Not seen anything near our qualify yet. Lacazette is kept out of the French team by Giroud, and I've never been too impressed by Morata

That Arsenal kit is unreal. I know we always joked about Puma being our kit maker but I really wish they were.

And still Sanchez couldn't get on the bench.
I'd have had him there for the last 10 minutes.

No different than B. Silva with us. We gave him game time against West Ham after only a few training sessions.
Guy admitted himself that he isn't fully fit.

Must be because it's before start of PL season, to allow players short of fitness to rest.

If only Chelsea had a bald goalkeeper that could save penalties ...

Don't know if I can get behind snake draft penalties. Seems a bit extra. Don't see the need.

exactly. they lost because they had a penalty killer on the bench but left him there.

Courtois takes the second penalty?
What was that about? Have they no forwards worth their salt?

Chelsea didn't deserve much out of that game TBH.

That's what you call a bad day - for Chelsea. All went to shit when Pedro jumped on Elneny's achilles.

I think they are seriously weaker without Costa, among other things

This new system of penalties is beyond stupid.

I remember almost ten years ago when they tried to introduce the hockey type of shootout in football. This type of system like today takes all the drama away from what penners actually ment.
