We need to win this. No excuses, etc

This is ours to take it. Napoli will be our direct opponent for the grand prize, plus we have a score to settle with them. Lucky for us, Shakhtar are playing at Kharhov, away from Donetsk.

Bollox. Shaktar up last on December 6th, that could have been better. Hopefully we've got the job done by then anyway.

Of the six Brtish teams five of them start and finish their campaigns at home. The other starts and finishes away.

Can you guess the odd one out?

Since you asked: here we come europa league.

By the end of the group stages, Dortmund will have faced Real as many times as they have faced Schalke (aka a team in their fucking league) in the last seven years.

BVB will have faced Madrid in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016...2017. Weren't in the CL in 2015/16.

I am told Napoli are a serious outfit, young, fast, attack minded and will cause us serious problems like Monaco did.
Away games to the other two teams will be tough.

This group is no walkover like Rags and Dippers.

Great draw compared to what we've had in the past.

All tricky games still but that is to be expected.

We should be looking to win this group.

Anyone else just not interested yet in the circus that is the CL? When match day comes around i will of course cheer us on, but until then its just a distraction from the regular, proper football that is the domestic season

It doesn't excite me.

The prospect of aEuropean Super League fills with me with dread.

Champs league is corrupt & is structured in a way that is alien to everything football should stand for.

The charlatans & crims that run it should be in jail.

I'd be more excited in the champions league if it was a true champions league. Take the league winners from the top 32 countries in UEFA and have them play against one another without any seeding or coefficients.

or

If the top 8 or 16 teams (league position) from each country enter into an FA Cup style knockout tournament. Simple and to the point. Would take as many games as the group stages do now, and would add so much more excitement/variation into the matchups.

This whole seeding/coefficient group stage nonsense makes it feel forced and artificial. Like they're just waiting until the semis for the big money matchups...

That wouldn't make nearly enough money, and it would mean that scum and dippers, ac and inter and the rest of uefa's mates weren't in it much.
Mind you, they'd just move the goalposts again.
