Sometimes looks class - most of the time looks awful and rash.

Not suited to a team that pass the ball out from the back either.

No pace is the issue and with 3 at the back he is easily isolated and exposed.

Targeted by Scouse2 - they scored
Targeted by Scouse1 - who would have scored

Pattern has been set.

He will be targeted by every top7 team that we play.

If we do not resolve this weakness we will concede soft goals.
This will cost us points and most probably the PL.

Snail-amendi. He is soooo slow. Carries a house on his back.
That 60 mill and that 30 mill we didn't spend on the 31st of August. MUST be used to buy a central defender in Jan.

For me the Otter was slowly improving (no pun intended due to his lack of pace aside) but today he was undoubtedly our weak link. On the plus side he won't have to face as many lightening forwards from one team every week until we play Liverpool in the return game, mind we will probably/hopefully have another defender signed by then ....

Kompany fit hopefully.

I wouldn't mind a back three of Vincent, Stines and Danilo, if Danilo can keep up today's level.

was, is and forever will be an average craftman of the role. Not is fault.

what I find striking is why he was picked today, back from intercontinental flight, in a key game.
wouldn't Danilo/Yaya/Stones or Danilo/Stones/Mangala have been better? at very least today, when still affected by jetlag.

not rocket science to me, still... :o

Not excusing his general slowness but he's just played two full games in South America and flown back the jet lag way.

True, but his lack of pace is a big problem.

Gash.

Said a few times, but is Mangala really that bad? For me if you have 3 at the back they need some bloody pace!

Actually it's not just that, his positional play and diving in is just as bad as his lack of pace.
