Awful game today, but looks fine next to kompany.

If we're talking cb's I'd rather discuss mangala getting some minutes with no incident. A stroll of a game to come on, but can do him no harm.

Danilo is an awesome utility too isn't he?

Terrible, terrible player.

That's been clear since he joined.

He is terrible against pace. He's terrible against a strong player. He's terrible in the air.
Im not sure what he's meant to bring to the table.
And he dives and cheats.
And soft as shite

To be fair he's better against a strong player. Costa and Ibra are both still in his back pocket.

We're going to see a lot of 3 at the back this season so something has to be done he (pep) can't persist with otter there.

Definitely in favour of Mangala being given another crack.

No worse than Otamendi in possession of the ball or when it comes to positional discipline. Moreover, he has pace and power to burn and - notwithstanding his Krytenesque 50p head - is commanding in the air.

We bought a young player everyone was after in order to pair him with Kompany and have him learn the finer points of his game. It's unfortunate for Big Quim that Vinny has barely been fit since.

that was probably his worst performance ever in a City kit.

without Kompany alongside him he looked atrocious. it's worrying with Kompany likely out for awhile.

he needs to be sold in the summer but i doubt we'd get much for him. i'm trying to remember who was the last CB the club bought that turned out to be good (too early to tell on Stones). it might end up being this kid we snagged from Barca this summer.

Savic. But we sold him before he became good.

The worrying thing is that it was only salah that exopsed him so easily.

Salah will expose a lot of defenders this season. Takes nothing away from how shit Otamendi is though

I am now strongly of the opinion that we need to get shot of him
Despite being in complete control of the game the one weak point was him and a little more composure from Liverpool and we would have conceded - not good enough at all and he'll cost us points like this as the season goes on - step up the Mang

When/if Kompany is back, I wouldn't mind seeing Danilo given a run in his position.

Maybe we should bring Sagna back. I think he is a free agent. Vince is out for weeks and Otter is struggling. An injury to a full back would be a real problem now and Sagna can play in a back 3

I've seen worse ideas than this propounded SSB.

Could well be worth some consideration.

You surely don't mean suggestion of giving a go to a Danilo/Yaya/Stones unit, by that, right?

agree that should we really need to scramble for used articles, putting aside righteous love for Zabba, Sagna would be lesser of bad.
But I am sure I saw, elsewhere, an advised bloke wondering why a sensed scouting should be limited to Bonucci, Laporte or the Dutch bloke so desperate to join Jimmy Jaws in the shades of grey.

apology for quite a selfish pedantry.

To be fair he's better against a strong player. Costa and Ibra are both still in his back pocket.

You joking? he cost us at home against chelsea when costa bullied him:

Agree 100% with PIccs. Hes a clear weak link, maybe can do a job in a back four with kompany but thats about it.
