Aside from the obvious, mendy is so exciting to watch and he was outstanding yesterday along with kdb.

But Fernandinho mopped up all over the place and nipped everything in the bud.

The unsung hero yesterday for me

FFS how can anyone criticise the kid with those facts?! We win 6-0 and people want to dig him out! Stones was accused of doing fuck all midweek. When the stats got shown it was completely the opposite!

Sterling is class. Yes he needs to improve on a few things. But let's celebrate him ourselves as he gets enough shit from the media about what he "can't" do properly.

Sterling was poor for a lot of the start but really grew into the game. What was never in doubt throughout though was his guts and endeavour. Really grown up performance from him. Love the wee scamp.

I think the key thing for me is that 3 games in 7 days and all our players were on it right to the final whistle, still hungry going forwards still chasing and hounding the oppo when out of possession - we never rest. That says so much about the group of players the hunger the desire and spirit.

That has to come from the manager, he has made finishing touches to his squad in the last transfer window and has seemingly got his message across to the players who have responded in the best possible way. We've questioned him during his time at city but he has stuck to his principles (we call it stubborn) and we are now seeing the real benefit on what appears to be a consistent level. My shout out for mom has to go to Pep Guardiola
