Fantastic Article on Gundogan Rehab

Some great long form journalism on Ilkay's journey back from the NY Times:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/20/spor ... njury.html

It goes really in depth into his mindset and anyone whos been through a rehab can probably relate.

Excellent finding, Big.
I bent over the showcase of your highly commendable readings ;-)

edit: I also bent over the fact that I browsed NYT 6 hrs ago but couldnt catch this

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

Channel 5 reporting he was visibly upset talking to the club doctor as he went down the tunnel. Guardiola says it is 'not serious' but as Given pointed out, it's probably too early to know especially with the emotional reaction. Fingers crossed for the man. Putrid Pulis clearly wanted him targeted. First by the long named Pole then that animal Yacob - who really enjoys being a filthy scrote - just what Tony likes. Despicable.

Was i the only one thinking - please get rid of the ball gundo when he was running the length?

Could see a mile off that he was going to get done. Not his fault but it was clear what was going to happen...

Apparently not serious:

https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team ... e-man-city

Manchester City can confirm Ilkay Gundogan suffered a knee sprain in the 2-1 win over West Brom on Wednesday.
The German midfielder underwent tests this morning after being taken off during the Carabao Cup victory at the Hawthorns and the Club’s medical staff found no significant damage.

The affected knee is different to the one which kept Ilkay out for nine months after his last setback suffered against Watford in December.

It is too early at this stage to give an exact time frame on his absence but he is expected to be back on the training field in the coming days.

We will keep you updated with his progress right here on mancity.com

Great news.

But I think he is a ticking bomb. Soon another big injury will hit him and we will be wide open.

Good news anyway.

great news, indeed.
also, as a few mentioned in the aftermath, let's hope he doesn't get psycological impact from yet another big scare

2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

His reaction after the physio performed the Lachman ACL test wasn’t good. Right way he slapped the turf in anger and started tearing up. Hope I’m wrong but I’m still skeptical.

Great news, he'll be critical in our success this season me thinks. Love his runs into the box, we missed them big time when he got injured last season.

You seem to be well informed about onfield diagnostics. Nevertheless, I ask myself whether the club would be quite so publicly positive if he had sustained an ACL which would rule him out for the season and probably end his playing career.

He's unique. We have a few of them: Yaya & De Bruyne for example. You have to slightly adjust how you play when you lose players like this. If Gundogan had a full season with us he'd be loved as he's fucking brilliant in a different way to everyone else in the squad.
