Arsenal score a scrappy pinball goal to go 1-0 up early doors at home to Brighton.

Watching Wednesday and Leeds. Thankfully Leeds look awful. Wednesday are one up, had a perfectly good goal ruled offside and missed a sitter or two. They should be out of sight.

Have the Arsenal game on.
Comfortable for the Gunners, but there are a serious amount of empty seats in the stadium that hasn't been mentioned.

I hate when they bring it up about us, and I really shouldn't care, but I see this problem at all the big grounds. The Swamp is every bit as bad.
Is the British public just over saturated with the product on offer?

Week in and week out I am amazed how Everton got that point and then I remember how bent the ref was.

In the case of Arse, if they are going to remain playing at the level they are, they'll need to seriously reduce their prices.

Funny thing with Arsenal fans. They have sold out the Emirates week in week out for years. And yet I remember pretty average crowds at Highbury when I first went to away games. Admittedly that was thirty odd years ago, but their gates were nothing special back then.

Just checking it, 25470.
Return fixture was 30288.
Their average was 25589 whereas we averaged a smidgen over 34 thousand.

They got all trendy for some reason, and it was the hip place to be.
God alone knows why.

Have Barca been ordered to play a game behind closed doors? There is literally no one in the Nou Camp. I know it's some sort of referendum out there, but even so.

Was mentioned by the commentator that the crowd at Highbury last time they met there was 17,000.
He was actually making the point look how great things are now with 50-60k watching now.
I was looking at the empty seats thinking we don't get that kind of spin.

I think the previous post regarding a reduction in price being needed at Arsenal is spot on, because a lot of their fans don't think they are getting value for money.

It really is a business now. I think football needs to be careful what kind of customer they pander to. If they lose what was once a captive loyalty in their customer base (fans)., they will lose the attractiveness of their product.

All business speak for, they're in danger of killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Spanish plod probably think they're using it as a polling station, and won't let anyone in.

Catalan thing going on there and Catalans demanding a referendum (bit like brexit bollox) Madrid doesn't want it and its all kicking off so game is behind closed doors as Barcelona is the Catalan capital .

It is because of disturbance in the city related to the referendum

But you'd think they'd either let the fans in or call it off. It's not as if the referendum was announced yesterday. They could have simply swapped it round and played in Las Palmas this time round.

It's like watching a training ground match
