Coming round to this way of thinking.
Him playing in that Gibraltar game was utterly discreaseful. I am still annoyed about it.

"The much-adored French left-back Benjamin Mendy is a doubt after going off against Crystal Palace, but it doesn’t appear to be serious, with Guardiola saying, “We are going to test and see if Mendy is able to play.”

However, Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gündoğan are OUT of tomorrow’s game.

“Ilkay did part of the training yesterday. Vincent is not ready for tomorrow,” Guardiola told the media at the CFA2

Don't believe a word of it ;)

Seems your suspicion may sadly not be misplaced JC.

How a Daily Fail journo got wind of this is anyone's guess.

A few more journos reporting the same as above now, fears he may have done ligament damage.

If he has done ligaments, that will be a massive, massive blow. Having only one proper left back in the squad could well cost us title(s)

I don't think it can be classed as a knock given the length of time he has been out. We do need him back though, but I do wonder if Pep attaches any blame to Vince in this matter.

We dont need him back until we start conceding again and I bet a pound to a penny PEP is rightly pissed off at Vince.

All in all he should stay on the bench till further notice , regardless of him being fit.

You bet Peps pissed off !!

He puts the group before everything, including players international ambitions.

Anything that jeopardises that philosophy will create a reaction.

It was never only a knock. If they are sending to see this specialist then its a worry and probably a long lay off.
We now have a problem, please let the solution to that not be Sane as wing back.

He is not a left back though and doesn't have the pace needed to be a left back. He will no doubt give all he can because he is that kind of bloke, but he will not, and should not be expected to be, as good as a specialist left back. I hope people don't give him shit for simply not being Mendy.

As said by most here over the last three months, Ben Chilwell or Danny Rose should have been bought in summer instead of all that fucking about with Sanchez.

I like that Robertson kid that Liverpool signed too, not sure if he's association grown or not though.

A few of us called it here, despite the media saying we had the best squad, it was completly unbalanced. One left back was asking for trouble and as good as Danilo/Delph are neither are specialists. Robertson would have been ideal, heck even charlie daniels from bournemouth would have been fine but we are short in a position so crucial to guardiolas tactics.

Its a worry.

My biggest fear is not that he will be out for a while, but that he turns out to be one of those injury prone players. He got injured against England in a nothing situation and then picked up an injury in training and now this. He's only been here two minutes. Delph will do as an emergency but how long before he is injured again?

Do we have any youth left backs? I remember Angelino was loaned out.
I think we are getting Bertrand in january. hope we are not stupid enough to go after another injury prone fella like Rose.

Yes, You said that right, several times and were spot on.
But I also agree with WW on that, on the given circustances, Delph is to be regarded as the best possible option when Danilo is unavailable or need to be used on a different role.

not to be emphasize my ego, but I need to refer to my original post on page 1:
if confirmed to have gone south, this is textbook "Typical City": on large evidence this season, shortage of top quality FB is gonna be detrimental as nothing else, not even remotely comparable with the CB problem.
if Pep shall manage to minimize the issue untill a patch will be applied in january, his genious will get a further recognition, imo.

btw, is anyone aware of whether, under the PL rules, Angelino fm NAC and/or Pablo Maffeo fm Girona might be called back immediatly, as I am almost sure is ppossible in other leagues?
