Delph was very good last night, but he's no Mendy - he dosen't have the pace and energy to bomb up and down that flank. Our tactical set-up will have to be different with him as left back, as evident last night, where Delph most of the time dropped into midfield as an "inverted fullback" in the build-up and let Sané provide the width. I think that's why Pep is playing with the idea of introducing Zinchenko to this role too. It will give us another option when needed. If he steps up to the plate, I suspect that Zinchenko will be a better fit as a wing back in a 3-5-2 than Dleph, for instance.

We now have a problem, please let the solution to that not be Sane as wing back.

Delphinho looks to be the goto left back.

He is not a left back though and doesn't have the pace needed to be a left back. He will no doubt give all he can because he is that kind of bloke, but he will not, and should not be expected to be, as good as a specialist left back. I hope people don't give him shit for simply not being Mendy.

As said by most here over the last three months, Ben Chilwell or Danny Rose should have been bought in summer instead of all that fucking about with Sanchez.

Rose has been injured for EIGHT MONTHS.

Chilwell not at the highest standard.

Delphinio & Danilo or a kid will have to step up & Sane & Otter will need to give better support down the left.

"Concern with Benjamin Mendy is that Man City's sole specialist left back has ruptured an ACL. If so possible 9 months rehab process. "

What's he doing climbing steps on crutches if that's the case?

If he’s ruptured his acl, it makes no difference. The damage is done, he can’t do anymore walking around. A full acl rupture is pretty easy to diagnose and an MRI should be conclusive. Not sure why he needs to go to Barca for all that. Unless it’s for surgery.

The medical team at City must know. He may be going to Barca for surgery or because Pep trusts his mate in Barca to give the best advice on recovery.

They all have pr people for the likes of social media.

Kyle walker even mentioned it the other day.

They're only there to tell them what not to put out, as opposed to sitting around planning oneliners.

Mendy is a funny guy and he posts funny stuff. It's not because he has a better pr crew than everyone else in football.

I don't think Mendy has a PR guy. I think he is the one posting on twatter.

However, yes, many of them have PR people, look at Aguero and his english post on Facebook after our games. A few years ago there was a huge PR pitch for Ronaldo and I am talking about the whole agency. If I recall, Edelman, Ogilvy and MSL Group were there, but no idea who got him, but I am certain the amount was huge. Getting Ronaldo would be the same as getting Coca Cola or McDonalds.

The numbers for a PR in the game might be with a lot of 0 in the end.
