Does that include penalty shoot-outs? ;)

Premier league: 73
FA Cup: 6
League Cup: 8
Chumps League: 14

Gives you the 101

2 penalty shoot outs in league yielding 4 goals each takes the tally to 109.....

I think it's safe to say he's not shite

Nicolas Otamendi is the first player to complete over 2000 passes (2058, 91.9% accuracy) in Europe's top five leagues this season.

Good find FIBD. That pretty much confirms my suspicion. Sterling has got much better as a finisher this season. Also, Kane scores a lot, but also shoots a lot. pep has talked him up, but I think he would go berserk if he was in our team, constantly giving up possession to go for his own glory.

Maybe, but how many times during matches do you just think "FFS shoot"?

The last few games, yes quite often. But when we were ticking before Christmas, hardly ever.

Also from the same dataset:

Image

By no means is it only tap-ins for Raheem (as we all know anyway).

Jesus and Okazaki have the highest xG per shot, so they (1) get into very good goal scoring positions and/or (2) take the fewest difficult/hopeless shots. (or am I reading this wrong?)

The data is from here:

https://public.tableau.com/profile/scot ... /TeamStats

If you didn't already know, Benteke is fuckin' gash. 2 goals from 7.39 xG, 5.1% conversion rate, second highest 'chance quality' of all Prem players with 30+ shots. Woeful.

TAP INS DON'T COUNT

Don’t start that again.
Saturday proved once and for all, they do.
With the tap in we would have been 2 points better off.

Maybe Raheem reads on here, and was brainwashed into believing they don’t. So he didn’t bother putting it away.

See how dangerous that kind of fake information can be.

Very good point.

I never thought of the potential consequences. Consider it buried mate.

The one stat that I love more that any of the others is that in almost any other season, the rags, with their points total would be likely leading the race to being champions.
Yet this season, they look a bunch of no marks, clawing to stay ahead of a pack of also rans 16pts adrift of City.

I looked this up yesterday and you're right. I was suspicious of all the comments that the competition is weak this season and that we've been allowed to run away with the title.
That's simply untrue.

Of course the notion the opposition is weak is a nonsense. At the beginning of the season the PL title fight had six challengers with varying degrees of a probability of success. But nonetheless the fact we are currently 16 points clear with eleven games to play says more about our campaign than the other challengers campaigns. As John68 has correctly pointed out, in most other years the rags points total at this stage would have them leading the race and likely going on to lift the trophy. Thus the competition is still there, it's just we have obliterated them with our style of play, our goals, our will to win, our management, our camaraderie, our panache and just maybe because it's our time.

We may set a lot of new records this season in terms of points, goals, goal difference, winning margin, trophies won. We shall see. But one thing is certain, everyone who follows football will remember this season for a very long time

Not a bad season to have an Amazon documentary done

It's so obvious in the media with their "the competition is weak" bullshit.

Yet, at the beginning of the season I remember reading a list of journos' predictions for the top four and IIRC all of them were waxing lyrical about Chelsea, spurs and the rags.

And all three would be having an amazing title fight, with a pretty normal points tally right now, if it wasn't for the outside bet (according to their predictions ).

Boo hoo.

Agüero has more goals (13) in 2018 than Alexis Sánchez, Lukaku, Martial, Lingard, Mata, Rashford and Pogba together (12)
