We can't argue and push for a level playing field from the officials on one hand while agitating for a financial advantage over most teams on the other - it's hypocritical.

I still fail to look at a merit based distribution of earnings (foreign rights), largely generated by our investments as seeking financial advantage.

but since you made that "keep calm and carry on" call, on the historical QPR match thread, before Dzeko goal... You'll always can say or call me (for what matters) whatever You please ;)

The success of a league depends on the strength in depth - you cant have strength in depth if the top teams are syphoning off more than their fair share - just look at La Liga (in years gone by) for an extreme example of what that can lead to - and once the top Prem teams get their way with the foreign TV money it wont be long before they're wanting more of the domestic money when the deal gets next negotiated. Like I said, this would be a slippery slope not a one off.

I am sorry Mate, I obviously do respect, very much, different opinions on such a heartfelt topic.

but I continue to see noble folks venting knightly sentiments in place of convincing points, here.
smart people letting their genuine sentiments for social justice overwhelm their judgement, imho.

I stand by my opinion expanded on previous posts above, namely, with ref to your opinion about "The success of a league depends on the strength in depth", that post where I say that the very fair distribution of very fat domestic rights is well enough to that effect.

As per La Liga similitude, again respectfully sorry but I find it quite sloopy in comparison to English environment.
in order to get a La Liga environment you need:
a) a greedy distribution of the league overall earnings and prizes. not applicable to England.
b) a spanish/italian genetical tendency to cheating and the all. yes you have a slightly "masonry" environment established in England with the fundation of the Prem (the Gill's, the Reiley's, etc) but yet far far away to a situation comparable to La Liga. England is England, first and foremost for Its Law-abiding People, and that only, already makes a world of difference. You will never have a Two Clubs ruling Mafia in England.

So prize money slanted towards achievement is greedy but TV money slanted towards achievement is merit based? It's all the same thing because they wont stop at just one - they will want a bigger slice of everything. Like La Liga used to be.

Why stop at TV money then?
Why not embrace the socialist philosophy completely and have a big "premier league" pot for things like shirt sponsorship? So Burnley can chuck in their 2.5 million from dafabet and we can chuck in our 400 million from Etihad airways and so forth for the other clubs and we just divvy it up 20 ways?
Fair isn't it?
Then we can look at merchandise too, seems only fair that all teams share the revenue for that as well, so we can chuck any merch revenue into the pot and that way Middlesboro get a reasonable share too
Sure, we've made the heavy investment to be a world class outfit and they haven't but who cares about that?

I get where you’re coming from but if this discussion about TV money was happening pre-2008 then we would have been against it.

Plus, we’ve suffered from other clubs trying to limit our ability to compete through FFP.

Now we’ve risen to the top we are joining these ‘big’ clubs in attempting to limit other clubs’ ability to compete. It makes us no better than United, Liverpool etc.

Football has never been fair. But considering the financial clout we currently have, do we really need to widen the gap even more and create a La Liga type situation?

Three full stretched pages and am yet to read the faintiest recognition of the FACT that such stunning increase in size of the once negligible pie, is largely due to Mancester City FC investments on sparkling football.

Or someone is deluded enough to think that a raise from zick to billion in such short time would have happened anyway, by the pure grace of the immeasurable width of rags global plastic fanship, or never ending appeal of Pulis/Fat Sam die hard grit?
Havent the Agueeeerooooo, Dave's, Kdb's, Sane's & co. magics had a large part on this increased global appetite for the Original Game?

American broadcasters can work across a trendy spin, but aren't naively enthusiastic Asian fan, are they?

Dunno where our usually unfazed, disenchanted, finely educated BiB got that 85 pct figure, certainly not from me.
once the principle is acknowledged I, for one, would consider fair enough a 50 to 60 merit based apportionment, giving the rest on mutual base.
I'd also suggest, to one of BiB's significant points, sharing the merit based slice on audience rating share rather than on just number of broadcasted games. some deluded dippers would probably realize that 2 City games appeal more than 3 of theirs.

Anyways, one can't debate with emotions: hence I respectfully rest my hopeless case.

Fuck off to the Champion's League (to people in general, not anyone specifically) if you want a select few clubs with their nose in the trough only getting out of second gear while playing each other - leave the Premier league as it is now - where teams (like Leicester) can have a shot of winning it and pretty much any team in the league can win any match on any given day. Anyone who wants to to get behind something that would damage the competitiveness that the league currently enjoys is shortsighted and blinkered - including the clubs that are possibly pushing for these changes themselves.

In life,in business,in almost anything, the most successful usually get the biggest rewards. Meritocracy !!

City ( HHSM ) have invested hugely to break the Sky 4 cartel,to improve the competitiveness of the PL,& to bring elite players & coaches to its benefit & to improve East Manchester.

No other club on the planet has the vision of ours.

If Burnley are more successful than Everton they deserve higher rewards. If we are more successful than Burnley & win the league we should get more than them & those who finished second. Meritocracy !!

Sunderland getting £100m for relegation & failure is what's wrong !!

City should protect their own interests cos we know from recent experience that most others will try to fuck us over.
