In the same day that Manchester City learned that Benjamin Mendy tore his ACL, they have more bad news that deals with one of their star players.

It is being reported that City and Argentina striker Sergio Aguero was injured in a car accident in Holland after a concert and may have fractured a rib.

Not much about the injury has been divulged but it appears that Aguero will be on the sidelines for about two months after the injury.

This is a massive blow for Manchester City, who have been flying high in the English Premier League this season, but it could be even worse for Argentina. City's team can likely survive without Aguero but Argentina was going to need all the help it could get to get wins over Peru on Oct. 5 and Ecuador on Oct. 10.

He may be on the sidelines for up to two months but Aguero fans will be thankful the outcome wasn't any worse.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero suffered a fractured rib in a car crash in the Netherlands, sources told ESPN Sur.

Aguero, 29, was a passenger in a taxi en route to the airport in Amsterdam after attending a concert on Thursday night put on by Maluma, a Colombian singer, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a column on the side of the road.

The sources said that Aguero could miss six to eight weeks because of the injury

Strange that the Club would have allowed him to go to Holland 48 hours before a big match. Obviously a huge blow.

Seriously he's injured in a crash after a Maluma concert, what is he even doing over there on a Thursday night with Chelsea this weekend?

Hope he's better asap but that's just unbelievable.

Anything happens to Jesus and we are screwed.

More and more reports circulating now so it seems to be true.

The good thing is that he doesn’t have life threatening injuries.

But the question must be asked - why was he in the Netherlands 2 days before our biggest match of the season?

The press conference is going to interesting today :(
But seriously this and Mendy are huge blows. Its impossible to quantify in terms of premier league points but it must be well into double figures. And may well cost us a title.

Glad he's okay. However am taking the fractured rib with a pinch of salt. It happened last night and early hours reports state fractured rib. How would this get out so quick, am sure yhe club will be the first to hear any diagnosis.

Huge blow for him and a huge blow for us. We will really miss him for the weekend game but hopefully the way the team are playing, we'll be able to push through. I'm just wondering if he was told he won't be playing on Saturday due to where he was?

Following the Chelsea game we've got it a little easier with the Napoli and Arsenal games being the 3 real tests. However, without means that we can't rotate as much as we would want and may lead to tired legs.

Is this where Pep pulls the rabbit out of the bag in his approach to Raheem, converting him to play upfront?

Good point. I know they rarely X-ray for ribs over here as there's no point. Could just be bruised. Who knows?
