If down to Pep , then fair enough !

We pummel him when we're playing shit so it's only right that he should be applauded when we're playing well. And, we are playing well!

Anybody care to comment on how the ref played? I only ask as it always seems to be the Chelsea game when he fucks us over.

That's true. I still can't stand Pep. But if we win the league I'll smoke the guy off in front of the whole of Mani.

I was going to say it's these scrappy 1-0s that show a sign of champions but from what I've read, it was anything but scrappy.

Exactly mate. I don't have to like the bloke, or even his tactics, but if he brings us joy then who gives a fuck.

He's got us playing the best football I've ever seen, and if I may, we now look like the real deal, a real top club like Barca or Bayern. We ARE that good.

In context, that was one of the the most complete, superb, all round performances I've ever seen.

No weaknesses.....no one less than 7/10,6 players 9/10,1 player 10/10.

To be fair, Gerrard doesn't sound like he thought Chelsea dominated...

Gerrard said Chelsea "showed City too much respect" saying that our weakness is our back 4 and that Chelsea should have pressed us more, and when Conte subbed Morata that showed they were conceding to a draw at home which he says is poor for "the champions at home" and sends a bad message to fans.

Lampard poo pooed on the excuse about an extra days rest saying that was not the reason the result went as it did...he also just said chelsea "were out played."

We have let in 2 goals........so hes right , we are weak as fuck at the back.

Fucking babbling bindipping scouse thief.

Yes 2 goals, same as rags, but against some better teams, and 3 less than next best. It will be April before any pundits recognise it though.

My take is the officials keeping their powder dry and living to fight another day.
that day will come december, 9th facing Michael Oliver and the rags at the swamp on worldwide broadcasting.
Imho, then we will learn whether PL /PiGMOLes fear more God Gill or global shame.

today's was pretty consistent and non influential, albeit setting the tone of "give fack all to Citeh" by denying a blatant free kick on the crown of the edge before minute 6th. Avoided to show a blatant yellow and, with my biased spectacles I saw a light penalty on Gabi that rags would have been awarded.

OFF REF NOTE: can't really wait to read DH's take on today!

Yes and no.
Two of ours booked again and none of theirs.
I wouldn't argue about our bookings but thought there were numerous occasions where they could and should have seen yellow.
It was clear from early on that we were not going to get any close calls.
As it turned out we were just so much better than Chelsea it didn't matter.

1-0 didn't reflect how much we were on top.

that would mean that filthy dark shade of red has FINALLY faded on English Footie.
