If FFP is not really an issue, we should really buy a world class left back. We cannot rely on Mendy and Delph and expect to have a better season than the last one.

Twice so far I think, probably a few times more before our first January signing though ;)

Exactly, haven't we learned by now that what Pep tells the press should be taken with a bucket of salt.

I've noticed before that he, like most managers, can be a bit disingenuous

I think Alaba is a player that Pep really wants here and tried everytime to buy him. He knows him very well and fits the system he likes, with his offensive approach. Plus he has a cracking left foot that will make Mase doubt Kolarov.

Hernandez on the other hand, very young, 22 years old, but still I think he might be a risk and 80 mil is way too much from my point of view.

Looks like we signed a 20 year old right back Raoul Bellanova from AC Milan. No idea if he's any good or not

Left, right what's the difference? :D

Seem interchangeable these days.

Besides Danilo is a terrible player!!

I hear you, although some starting to think we need another right back given issues with Danilo's fitness the past 2 seasons.

Out of curiosity, just checked how Maffeo is doing and seems he's struggling to get games after he started the season well, but dropped off significantly.

What is the general opinion about Icardi? Yey or ney?

Looks like he is becoming better and better. Wonder if he could be an option.

Isn't he the one that did a John Terry on Maxi Lopez?

Yeah. That is why he is not in the argie squad. Supposed Messi is against him, so if Messi is, probably serge is also.

Football wise, I can’t get my head around him, looks Benzemaish, world class, but not that... world class.

When you see the planning from the documentary we either bring summer signings forward or we will stick with what we have. I don't see any panic, however we are the richest team on the planet. Money talks players walk. Is this the window for even a short term boost, I can see Klopp trying to get more in, hopefully messing with his squad it unsettles them, we are unsettled so it would be a boost get more goals and stealing Lyon centre mid day and a LB, but do we have time for them to settle in. Delph is a liability, we miss Mendy and before the defensive argument start they said it all about Danny Alves at Barca, he offered that balance width and even Messi misses that supply.

Is Mendy out for the season? And does anyone know whats wrong with Fern?

The two areas in which we have insufficient quality cover. Maybe we have already planned who we want in the summer and maybe we can bring them early. But we didn't bring anyone in those positions in the summer for onecreason or another.

Unless its a target brought early I think I'd sooner not see anyone rather than a panic buy who then might not fit and we struggle to offload. Injuries are part and parcel of the game and we just have to get on with it. We may not win the PL this year. We may well retain it. Either way, as long as we have given it our best shot and have entertained and picked up a cup along the way as a little bonus, come May I'll take that. Be very disappointed not to win the PL especially if the murderers win it, but no one has a right to win it. It must be earned over 38 games and if we fall short then so be it. We learn and move on. To be fair to baconface and the rags its one thing they did very well. When Arsenal and Chelsea won titles they took it on the chin, regrouped, improved their squad and went again the next season. We need that mentality and hunger and drive.

But back to the January window. Be surprised if we got our guys early as most clubs dont sell before their own season is done
