Excellent. Means we aren't going to. Perhaps the Spanish lad from Sociedad will rock up?

According to Balague we are not in for Martinez.

Very true...

Something has to give on this and if he's rested then its deal done.

So, the dippers get £141m for Coutinho whilst the other £4m goes to his previous club Vasco. A bit like the Sterling deal where the dippers got £35m and QPR got the reasoning £9m.

I know but the dippers bought his sell on clause by upping it a bit

He's out of contact in the summer.

Ahh - right ok, makes more sense then

Whole thing is a strange one as he'd already been set to go to Chelsea for I think £35m over the summer but fell through when he allegedly "changed his mind" as he was about to have his medical.

Word then was he realised he wouldn't get into the team and wanted to wait for a bigger paycheque (bonus) if he signed on a free over the summer.

Especially as Chelsea are pretty desperate for English players good enough to get into their team.

Yeah, but it's still our fault for making prices go up, don't forget.

Interesting how the media are portraying this as a £142m transfer. It is not. It is £105m with the balance made up in "achievable add ons", whatever they may entail. But because the dippers are the selling club, their pals in the media will try to make the deal look as good as they can. Bit like when Sterling was apparantly £49m, rather than the £44m with 20% going to QPR, making it £35m to the dippers, which they then spent on Benteke!

This is a terrible loss for the dippers. He was their best player and though they have a big fee for him, it will take a big fee to buy a replacement, if they can get one. And when Can fucks off in the summer for nothing that's two influential players to replace, without adding to the squad. Happy times

Liverpool fan just text me and said it’s being reported they’re getting Mahrez for £50 million. Leicester mugs if they let him go to Liverpool for that cheap.

I’d say 50 million is more than a fair price for him.

Mahrez is good but not £50mil good. Leicester should snatch their hand, elbow & shoulder off if they get offered that.

£50 million is too much for him. That’s why I said “Leicester mugs if they let him go to LIVERPOOL for that cheap”. A club that’s just got £100+ million for a player.

genuinely curious. why do you care what price the media put on it?

Hasn't the rest gone on Keita? I'm sure it was reported at 45 mil, rising to 65 with add-ons.
