Three points. Job done. A draw in Naples is enough to qualify. But even then, if we lose there, we will beat Feyenoord at home so realistically we are in the next round.

Napoli are a damn good outfit and they showed just why they've won 8/8 in Serie A whilst scoring a record number of goals over there. This was a good win make no mistake

A win is a win, but the lack of concentration and composure in the second half showed that we are not quite at that elite level we are trying to achieve.

A lot of players making poor decisions and losing composure and technique as they went along.

Thought Silva made more errors of judgement in one game than I seen from him ever. He just wouldn’t release the ball.

Sane? Well enough said. Showed terrible technique all game and yet you’d back him to skin a tired defender at the end of a game and score.

Fernandinho and Stones were very good I thought and are becoming real leaders.

Jesus became static as the game went on second half and at times got in the way of a player better positioned.

Bernardo Silva was very good and should have been introduced earlier. Similar with Gundogan but I’d have left Sterling on as he was better than Sane IMO.

That’s my tuppence worth.
Very happy with the win but I hope we learn from that. Pep included.
His report card says ‘could do better’

Oh! the first 30 minutes was as good as it gets and Ederson is the buy of the season as far as I’m concerned. He’s a God.

Good to beat Napoli when only playing for half an hour.

Group H with Spuds and Real is looking interesting. If we win our group I hope Spuds don't win theirs!

probably so.

Fern very good too....saved a penalty rebound among many other things..

good shout, but caused a 20+ mins wreckage of my old nerves, if not mistaken.

Should have been more than two up at half time but it was a long second half. Maginifcent miraculous block by Stones was it. Didn’t see whether our effort was offside or not. Guilty of overplaying at the back once or twice. Napoli are a very dangerous side so I’m delighted with the win.

Bit frustrated that we didn't kill that off first half. But maybe it's a little wake up call we need.

agreed apart the guilty for overplaying at the back bit.

just saw a stat at minute 30:

City 10 / 3 on target.
Napoli 0/0

two extremely unlucky rebounds out the goal line...

summing it up, imo, how do You say in England? shit happens...

We cant be brilliant every game but we were brilliant for 30 mins in the first half which was enough . Napoli are a very very good team in top form make no mistake ! Job done on to the next the game and lots more tough games to come thick and fast .

Brilliant important 3 points that make things that little bit easier for us in the big picture of things !
Not really here

I think UEFA competition is different and s step up from most of what we play every week.
David wasn’t making the right decisions and we really needed leaders on the Park to do that.

In previous seasons we struggled to find one leader between them. What we are seeing in this team is the emergence of several. Fernandinho, Stones and Eddie are really coming to the fore.
I think Bernardo is improving and could be one such leader when Silva is no longer first choice. Keep Gundo fit and he will too.

I think Kev let the ref under his skin tonight and should learn from it when he watches the game back. Because I think he is a captain in the making.

Vinny is no longer someone we can’t do without. We weren’t saying that last year.

As was mentioned, Napoli are a top, top team, playing out of their skins; a bit like us. Yet, we still won and made it look easy, until they really tested us. And then, we had control.

This side is fucking unreal!

each word underwritten.

Kev is the sun. he's learning the trade at the top and once the nerves will have calmed down, with savvy words by Pep and others he will capitalize on that. Lad is as downtoearth as it gets.

well satisfied overall.
it wasnt knock out stage on two legs and away goals rule.
same points out of any scoreline and something to build on too. always positive in life when smart people are concerned.

apologies, Mate, for the words OTT at ht.

was still over the moon for the first 30 minutes of unplayable magic.

Imo Napoli was the TEST. will have to progress to CL final to be tested harder. and maybe fail because we admittedly are not that mentally strenght yet. but Pep has several months ahead yet.

Happy with that. Of course the second half got a bit nervy but what I liked most was that despite the problems it could/did cause we kept playing that way (like Pep demands) from the back and more importantly closed the game out, like the big experienced CL sides do. Perfect.

Good win...Like someone said already cant play our of our skin every game. Sane had a stink, takes a bit a time to get into the game me thinks. Should have come off 55-60 min with Silva next. The thing about Silva is that he takes that extra touch to much needs to release earlier. Where as KDB has perfect timing. Agree Delph is not a real LB but I'm still feel more at ease with him than having Danilo starting. #SharkTeam
