Will he really rest all 11 starters from the last game?

I think all 7 who were on the bench could start along with the Otter. Maybe Zinchenko, Tosin and Foden. Not entirely convinced he would go that far but I hope he does. Given the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern M and Juve are second in their groups, maybe finishing top is not too important.

Finishing top is important with regards that we get the 2nd leg at home. I think it will be a 'sedate' starting 11

He said specifically that he wouldn't be doing that. But we'll see Yaya, B Silva, Mangala, Gundogan.

Feyenord looked woeful in their last Eredivisie game against VVV no wins at home since August. They are pretty much certain to finish bottom of the group so they could put our pretty much any team as well. Not surprised Pep is looking at a back up starting team for this game. Presumably some strength on the bench.

He chats some shit Pep. Didn’t he also say Delph wasn’t in the squad for Saturday? I wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

Indeed he has (but not Mango) 'The players who didn't play (against Leicester) are going to play the next game but also some of the players that did play are going to play too. I have to think about it but Danilo, Yaya Toure, (Ilkay) Gundogan, Bernardo Silva are going to play for sure.'

it's not possible using the first team squad anyway - ten changes maximum, Zinchenko isn't eligible and can't see Delph or Vinny being risked

----------------------------------------Bravo------------------------------------
Danilo-------------------Tosin-----------------Otamendi------------------?
----------------------------------------Yaya--------------------------------------------
Bernardo-----------Gundogan---------------Foden---------------------Garcia
------------------------------------Aguero---------------------------------------

tricky to pick this one - Fern at left back?

I'd give Zinchenko another go. He impressed me against Wolves and hopefully won't have too much defending to do

Definitely want to see Diaz and Foden start

He can't play Zinchenko as he's not in the European squad.

Is Diaz fit? I know he told my son he was back in training now but would he be ready to play?

No, he said he doesn't know if he'll be ready because he hadn't trained the day before.

Chinners makes a fair point above about playing the second leg of a knockout game at home.

However if you look at how the groups stand at the minute the quality of potential opposition is just as strong regardless if we top our group or not.

If we do top the group this is the oppo as things stand:

Basel
Bayern Munich
Juventus
Sevilla
Porto
Real Madrid

If we finish runner up it's

PSG
Roma
Barcelona
Besiktas

I suspect Pep is playing a little mind games , he has got us into the perfect situation of being top of the PL and already qualified for the next stage of the CL and several of European leading clubs are struggling a little in the CL , Feyenoord are total gash plus some of our big players can have a much needed rest just at the right time of the season . Pep will do the same v Shaktar as it is our biggest game and defining game of the season against the rags a few days later . If Carlsberg did perfect situations ........
