City aren't in it so I don't care, I am more interested in our other teams (kids and ladies) than this
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

Nope.

Unless there is a secret draw where one of the managers names is pulled out of a hat and they have to spend three months in a Siberian gulag

Well I do like watching England, and that draw is pretty much as good as we could possibly have hoped for.

If we qualify for the second stage (which we really should) then it's Poland, Senegal, Columbia or Japan. If Brazil or Germany don't win their group they play each other in the last 16 and we could be looking at the likes of Mexico or Sweden for a place in the semi-finals.

Lots of ifs and buts, and of course our national side really isn't much good, but we do have two big thing in our favour this time; lack of expectation and Raheem Sterling.

I'm predicting right here, right now, we'll reach the semi-finals and lose to Argentina.

 I heard that logic on talkshite today: expectation of success is so low that they might be successful. Let's just not overdo the "You're so crap" mood music then. Or should we overplay it? I'm confused. :?

All I know is that the draw has been very kind to us and I do think the lack of expectation will help. We shall see but I'm certainly looking forward to the tournament.

C'mon England! Favourable group draw for us and lots of City players involved in the competition - looking forward to it :D
If we win the group it could be Columbia, Brazil, France and then Germany in the final on current form. 16/1 odds so might have a flutter.

ffs it ain‘t gonna happen.

we won‘t even get a win in our group.

And make sure the trumpet playing ‚England (arse) till we die‘ musicians get sent to the gulags.

Australia got a reasonable draw. We’ll take it and hope the Frenchies do some pre tournament infighting.

Cant beat iceland so i wouldnt take anything for granted. Also expectations for the last two tournaments were pretty low too and it did no good.

If Southgate grew a set of balls and picked players with courage made up of city and spurs players he would give you a chance. A front three of sterling alli and kane as good as anyones.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You dont think Alli is a good player?

Good - arguably (although currently well out of form) - but "as good as anyone's"? Seriously, I think there are at least a dozen better players in his position in this world cup and four of them play for us ;)
