Basel would have been my choice, great draw for us. :D

Good we will see one of Madrid/PSG go out :D

As well as one of Chelsea/Barcelona, and Spurs/Juventus.

Rags get Sevillia, hopefully Nolito/Navas will heap more pain on Maureen :D

If Carlsberg did last 16 Champios League draws, this would be pretty much it..... :D :D

PSG the new city, we'll get the winners of psg/ Madrid if we progress.

Suisse away I'm up for it. Never have anyone to do aways with people are all talk.

Valentine's week adds extra pressure but don't care lol

Also glad Besiktas got Bayern. Absolutely hate it when any English club gets drawn in Turkey, due to the risks involved for fans.

We should always boo their anthem .... when you start cosying up to organisations like Uwaffer then you are in trouble and might as well enrole with the 'dark side'!

I can recommned it without a doubt, the only downside is the cost of beer and food which is bordering on obscene! The ground is about 17yrs old and holds about 38k iirc, i've been to a lot worse stadiums down the years.

Basel Old town is very scenic and plenty of great bars.

Can't comment on their fans as i was there for Holland vs Russia Euro 08.

Airport is a bit weird come and turn left you are France turn right & you're in Switzerland........

Start saving those beer tokens though....

Basel are sponsored by Novartis, the pharmaceutical firm based in Basel that I used to work for and visited several times. It has a lovely old centre (alt stadt) and, for night-time entertainment (oo-er), try klein Basel on the other side of the Rhine from the city centre.

I don't have a passport any longer, and have no intention of getting one any time soon, so I'm thinking of just getting a ticket for the home game in March.

Generally, the Basel fans and People are easy going. they are very proud of their success. The Stadium St.Jakob seats 38,500 and is quite a compact ground.

The Atmosphere is really good there and with City fans singing along it should be quite a Sound ringing around the Stadium.

There is a stupid 'sud curve ' element , who mainly go stupid when they Play in Zürich or Bern. I don't know why they are able to get away with being pretend thugs - maybe it gives the Police etc something to do.

In General , in the bars and Clubs , Pubs etc City fans should have no Problems.

Like i say , the Swiss are easy going.

Of course , you will get a shock with the Price of a pint.

However, you can always nip over the border into Germany to buy you beer etc , it's significantly cheaper and better.

The Airport is actually in France, but borders on the City of Basel and is a short S-Bahn ride of about 10- 15 minutes from Basel main Station.

Food is very good but not cheap. Again you could consider even stopping over the border in France or Germany , where Hotels and Food are considerably cheaper and just come into Basel on the day of the game.

The Basel Restaurants are good, but if you come by car you might want to consider staying just North , somewhere of Basel in Germany, because the Food is excellent in South Germany and very fairly priced.

Zürich is one hour away by Train and is of course a much larger and more interesting City ( well I think so anyway).

So cheap flights into Basel and Zürich . Even a Coach trip is probably doable.

By Car is also doable, I have done it myself several times back to blighty.

Should be a great trip. Middle of February can be really warm , or bloody freezing , and I mean -15 Celcius , or even 20 degrees Celcius when warm.

Around about this time we have the Karneval weeks , so there might be a lot going on , but Basel is always the last Karneval in the Land and it is a bit later next year. they mainly speak German in Basel but a lot of French will be heard too.

Beer is expensive but you can only get non-alcohol in the Stadium. In theory you are not supposed to drink on the streets, but i suppose on match day the Pubs and Clubs will extend out into the street.

What's going on with that draw? It's so un-bent it's almost suspiciously un-bent. I was expecting the annual Barcalona fixture.
