*** Official Match Thread Leicester (A) Caraboa Cup ***

Postby johnny crossan » Tue Dec 19, 2017 2:31 pm

"Pep Guardiola has said it breaks his heart to leave players out of his starting line-up, ahead of Manchester City's Carabao Cup quarter-final against Leicester on Tuesday, live on Sky Sports Football.

So far this season, Manchester City boss Guardiola has used the Carabao Cup to give his fringe players first-team opportunities with Claudio Bravo and Yaya Toure among others featuring prominently in the competition.

"I trust the guys a lot. I don't want to offend the players. For me it breaks my heart when Danilo cannot play, Bernardo (Silva) cannot play, Yaya cannot play, when other players cannot play," he said.

"It breaks my heart because they deserve (to play) but we have no other choice."

it'll break my heart if Yaya gets another stroll on the park tonight

I am the same, after Yaya's last outing in the CL in Kiev, I hope he is on the bench TBH. The Santa stroll pace will not be allowed against a Leicester team who will be up for it.

I am setting off at 4pm, looking forward to seeing Foden and Diaz get a run out.

No Aguero in the squad for tonight according to Sam Lee, so that should improve the chances for both those lads getting on the pitch

Will be a terrible mistake to play Toure in midfield tonight simply for the sake of squad rotation.I sound like a cunt saying it,but his legs have gone, the 74 year old father in law is quicker than he is these days.

It will be a typical Leicester charge of the light Brigade opening 30 minutes.Hoping to over run us in the middle and score a couple of goals.

To be honest, i think the vast majority of us beleive the same Zabba, he has been a fantastic player for us and we owe him a great deal BUT watching the Shaktar game was just so frustrating and catapulted us back to last season with sideways and backward passing to the point where the game almost ground to a halt!

If we were 4 goals to the good late well in to the second half then i could find a case for him coming on but there is no way he can start.

Aguero has put “good luck City” on his Instagram so I’m assuming he’s not even in the squad tonight.

Will do him good having the week off playing seen as though he’s been carrying that injury for the last 5 years..
