Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The View from the Away End

Postby CuteMancs » Fri Dec 22, 2017 7:45 pm

If you thought there wasn’t much to see for the last game, you aint seen nothing yet. I’m sure everyone is busy getting ready for Santa, and that is a reasonable excuse. Once again, not much to see here, and what is here is not very exciting. I think we should give some credit to the away fans who are making the journey north this weekend. My Christmas officially starts at the Etihad tomorrow, and I am hoping to continue the celebrations in Manchester after the game. I wish all fellow Blues a wonderful, peaceful and Merry Christmas

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Mike Jones
Assistants: Ian Hussin, Derek Eaton
Fourth official: Mike Dean

Team Selection

Begovic

Smith
Francis
Cook
Ake

Ibe
Surman
Cook
Fraser

Stanislas

Wilson

And the rest…

Got to be done - to be fair though it was always going to be a good lash up due to the date, I just hoped it was an away fixture. Just enjoy the pubs and the home fans are pretty sound, it is a great away day - the football spoils it a bit sadly!

Well I'm half way up here for an overnighter and would be totally pissed off if Eddie didn't give it a go....he made 7 changes the other night..thats because he will put his strongest team out..this isn't the mickey mouse cup..

Have a bloody go. They are the best team in this league for some time in terms of overall quality. You never know, the press won't stop harping on about it if we do the unthinkable

Surely Eddie has written this one off in terms of risking any players? The first team would lose by three or four on a good day (no offence to them, just based on watching the Spurs game) and the reserves by a few more. It’s unlikely goal difference will define our season.. are we not best resting anyone with knocks for West Ham and Everton back to backs?

...play our strongest available team...if they come back with something then the confidence will be up for West Ham and Everton games... at the end of the day we realistically have little chance, but if we put in a good team performance it will do wonders

Their winning run has to end at some point...the Christmas period is brutal, I wonder if Pep is thinking of resting players? Could be our chance if he does...

Will Howe play the same formation in the league? …The answer is no

I'll take a one goal defeat, then take the positives.

Frustrate them and don't let them settle on the ball, otherwise they're deadly. We have to be patient and try and catch them on the break with the Wee Man's pace. Don't drop heads if we go behind, show some of the spirit from Wednesday's game. Winning sequences, and losing ones, come to an end at sometime, let's make it Saturday!

I know this sounds crazy, but if we could beat Manchester City right now . . . wow!
They are in a unique position, sitting atop a PL record winning run. Whoever topples them from this pinnacle will automatically earn a certain amount of awe and respect, particularly if it's not one of the other top 6 clubs…Think what this would do for our confidence…Well, I'm hoping and praying for the best anyhow. You never know!

CHERRIES: Joshua King & Charlie Daniels both likely to still be out for #MCFC trip tomorrow. Defoe seeing specialist later. Definitely out this week. #afcb

I usually treat my body like a temple. Last night I treated mine like a whorehouse above a liquor store next to a motherfucking Taco Bell.

300+ miles to watch your team take a kicking (probably) followed by a night out in a Yates. Football supporters are a hardy breed.
All we are saying is give Doug a pass.
